CMYK
BADBADNOTGOOD Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I guess this past year, I
Head about this guy, this UK –
And we all started listening to his music
And we were like "man, this shit is crazy"
I'm not gonna tell you the name
Until we start this song so if you know it
I want you to make some noise
This is fucking crazy, man
Alright, do it up Matty
And his named James Blake, by the way
Fucking love that guy, James Blake
The lyrics to "CMYK" by BADBADNOTGOOD provide some insight into the inspiration behind the song. The opening lines speak about how the band came across an artist from the UK, whose music they found to be extraordinary and mind-blowing. The lyrics set the tone for a tribute to this artist, whose name is revealed later as James Blake.
The enthusiastic response from the crowd reinforces the impact James Blake's music has had on the listeners. The admiration and love for him are evident in the lyrics as the band expresses their appreciation for his talent and the profound effect it has had on them.
The choice of the title "CMYK" refers to the four primary colors used in printing: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black. This title could be interpreted as a metaphor for the different elements that come together to create something unique, like the combination of musical influences that converge in James Blake's work.
Overall, the lyrics to "CMYK" convey the admiration and awe felt by BADBADNOTGOOD towards James Blake and his music.
