The momentum from this carried on with the single "NEVER POP ENOUGH e.p." which quickly climbed up the independent CD charts of various shops in Japan. Around a month later, they released their first mini-album "HOWLING SYMPHONY OF..." which both rapidly climbed the charts and received critical acclaim from the music press. After this, the band started to tour more extensively, thanks to various offers from bands within the Japanese alternative music scene. They then released their second single "FIRESTARTER" which was released in 2000 and then followed it up with the full-length album "ALL YOU CAN EAT" along with involvement in various compilation albums and split mini-albums with various independent groups while still releasing their own albums and singles.
In August 2003, three of the four original members of BEAT CRUSADERS left the band, leaving behind only Hidaka. He quickly recruited four new members, who form the current line-up of the group. The three members that left went on to form ANITA CHILI PEPPERS. The current line-up of the band is: ヒダカトオル (Hidaka Tooru) - Vocal & Guitar, クボタマサヒコ (Kubota Masahiko) - Bass, カトウタロウ (Kato Taro) - Guitar, マシータ (Mashiita, Maseeta) - Drums and ケイタイモ (Keitaimo) - Keyboard.
In 2004, the group was finally catapulted into the major-label music scene, thanks to the release of the song "HIT IN THE USA" which was used as the opening theme for the anime "BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad" and also allowed a number of their songs to be covered in the same anime. They have also had the song "TONIGHT,TONIGHT,TONIGHT" used in the anime "BLEACH" and in 2006 they made their first American appearance, thanks to the song "Hey×2 Look×2" which was used as the opening theme song to the Nicktoons animated series "Kappa Mikey".

The Disappointed
BEAT CRUSADERS Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
All shuffle round in circles
Their placards look the same
With a picture and a name
Of the ones who broke their hearts
The disappointed
All congregate at my house
That they want to be chief
Of the tribe with broken hearts
Once, I had no sympathy
For those destroyed and thrown away by love
Seems, your ring upon my finger
Signifies that I've become the spokesman of...
The disappointed
Will bear me on their shoulders
To a secret shadow land
Where a sombre marching band
Plays a tune for broken hearts
And day grows darker now
Everywhere, everywhere
The disappointed
Are coming in their millions
They're spilling from the bus
At a monument to us
Made of bits of broken heart
The disappointed
Are growing every second
They blot the sun to black
At the bottom of the pack
I'm the king of broken hearts
The lyrics of BEAT CRUSADERS's The Disappointed present a poignant message about the pain and disappointment that comes with failed relationships. The song brings to light the experiences of those who have been left heartbroken and expresses their feelings of being let down and betrayed by someone they trusted. The track captures a sense of despair and loneliness as it describes the circular, repetitive nature of the lives of the disappointed.
The opening lines of the song depict a group of individuals who all look the same with their placards bearing the names and pictures of the ones who broke their hearts. The disappointment felt by these individuals is so overwhelming that they all converge at the singer's home to seek solace and comfort. The singer, who was once indifferent to the plight of the disappointed, becomes the spokesperson of their tribe after being left heartbroken by love.
The chorus sees the disappointed bearing the singer on their shoulders to a secret place where they can mourn and grieve. The marching band's sombre melody and the day's growing darkness emphasise their despair and hopelessness. The disappointed are growing in numbers, and they take over everything in their path, blotting out the sun with their collective sorrow. The singer, who becomes known as the king of broken hearts, represents the unity of those who have been left disappointed and left to pick up the pieces of their shattered hearts.
