Hindsight
BEDlight for blueEYES Lyrics

Tiny indiscretion blown up to a tragedy
I didn't need a lecture I wanted you
To spend some time
Choking on the sadness
This car rides a funeral
Victory's so dirty it festers in the back of my mind

My mind......
My mind......
My mind......
My mind......
oooooo

It's been three days
Since you left me
And I'm as cold as a stone
It's been three days since you left
And I am not whole

Tying these dreams to my bedpost
Tying this noose to my neck.....
Wishing you'd some how come back
Come back home again
ooooooo

Count the days
Count the days
Till I see your face again
Now come back
come back
to you....

Count the days
Count the days
Till I see your face again
Now come back
come back
to you....

Count the days
Count the days
Till I see your face again
Now come back
come back
to you....

Tiny indiscretion blown up to a tragedy

I didn't need a lecture I wanted you
To spend some time

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Bedlight for Blue Eyes' song Hindsight offer a poignant yet strikingly relatable expression of the pain and regret that comes with a lost relationship. The lyrics speak to the feeling of being left alone without the one you love, with the singer feeling lost and hopeless, wishing for their lover's return. The opening lines suggest that there was likely some small indiscretion that caused the breakup, but it has been blown up into something much bigger and more tragic than it should be. The singer is clearly hurt by what has happened, and longs for their lover to come back to them, but they know that this is unlikely to happen. The chorus, which repeats the phrase "count the days till I see your face again," highlights the singer's deep longing to be reunited with their lost love, and the depth of their pain is palpable in lines like "it's been three days since you left me and I'm as cold as a stone."

The middle section of the song shifts toward self-destructive tendencies, as the singer contemplates suicide. Lines like "tying these dreams to my bedpost" and "tying this noose to my neck" suggest a deep sense of despair, as though the singer feels that they have nothing left to live for. However, this dark turn is not glorified, and the chorus once again shifts back to the singer's hope that their lover will come back to them. It's as though the singer is caught in a cycle of despair and hope, not knowing whether to give up or hold on, and this is what makes the song so powerful.

Overall, Bedlight for Blue Eyes' Hindsight captures the essence of lost love with a raw intensity that is hard to ignore. The lyrics are straightforward and honest, touching on the deep pain and regret that comes with a broken heart. The song is a reminder that heartbreak can be a powerful force, whether you are the one who has been left or the one who has done the leaving.

I discovered these guys in a used CD store. The Dawn album cover caught my eye, and thought it was a cool band name, so I figured why not buy it? Best $3.50 I've spent.

I bought a Masters of Horror CD with this song on it. Surprised to find a song like this on a themed-album like that, but other than "In Flames" this was the best band on the CD in my opinion. I hate I-Tunes, so it's been a while since I listened to this song, and when I did I jumped on YouTube to see if they had more music, although I'll buy their material if it's anything like ^this^
