toki no kane
BRAHMAN Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to BRAHMAN's song "toki no kane" speak about the passing of time and the struggles that come with it. The singer is waiting for a glimmer of hope amidst the sadness and sorrow that surrounds them. The words "まだ見ぬことと答えた" (I answered with something unseen) suggest that the singer is hoping for something in the future that they cannot see or fully understand yet.

The line "時の鐘 誰が打つ" (Who rings the bell of time?) speaks to the inevitability of time passing and the fact that we are all powerless to stop it. The idea of "察する手足止めたまま" (Being unable to move despite sensing something) shows the frustration of wanting to do something but feeling limited by circumstances. The line "生きた空もない" (There is no living sky) implies that life or hope is no longer present in the singer's surroundings.

The final lines "時の鐘は鳴り響き、やがて時は流れ行き、愚生の気は遠くなる" (The bell of time rings, eventually time passes and human lives grow distant) suggest acceptance of the passage of time and its effect on human lives. The emotions conveyed in these lyrics are melancholic and reflective of the challenges and uncertainties of life.
