FLIP MO
BROCKHAMPTON Lyrics

Flip, flip phone
Flip, flip mo nigga
Flip, flip phone
I just dropped out, I got my liberty
Acting like hot celebrity, actually I'm a rapper
Please, you a drop out?
No weed in your mouth now
And no you in your mom's house
(That all don't sound so bad now)
'Cause you ain't got no bed now
And all them niggas you banked on
Is backing out like a ringtone, that's pop, lock and drop it
So I had to take that, pot and ziploc it
Flip, flip mo nigga
Flip, flip phone
Flip, flip mo nigga
Flip, flip phone
I'm smoking blunts with Barack
Money inside of a sock
Stage diver holding my cock
You busy holding the block
And I've been refining my vision
You make the decision
We flexing in public, you love it
It's bullshit around me
I'm living above it
We too busy getting these buckets, nigga
Higher than the summit for the nuggets, nigga
Work on the canvas like Samo
I'm off the chain like I'm Django
Never been one for the labels
What do you bring to the table?
Nigga, stop speaking in fables
I'm a young misfit looking for the quick flip
Left hook take you out of this district
Watch a nigga's soul leave his existence
Hit a lick then I hop on my nimbus
Vicious
Flip, flip mo nigga
The lyrics of BROCKHAMPTON's song FLIP MO showcase the group's unique style of combining introspective and relatable themes with witty wordplay and pop culture references. The repetition of "flip, flip mo nigga" and "flip, flip phone" reflects the group's desire to flip their circumstances and upgrade their lifestyle, both metaphorically and literally.
The verse "I just dropped out, I got my liberty / Acting like hot celebrity, actually I'm a rapper" demonstrates the group's rebellious spirit and their decision to pursue their dreams instead of adhering to societal norms. The line "No food in your mouth now / No weed in your mouth now / And no you in your mom's house / (That all don't sound so bad now)" reflects on the hardships that come with pursuing one's passion, but also the sense of freedom and empowerment that comes with taking risks and chasing one's dreams.
The second verse paints a picture of the group's success and confidence, as they smoke blunts with the former president Barack Obama and perform on stage while their audience cheers. The lines "We too busy getting these buckets, nigga / Higher than the summit for the nuggets, nigga" demonstrate their dedication to their craft and a determination to succeed, no matter what obstacles they face.
Overall, FLIP MO is a powerful anthem that celebrates the group's resilience, creativity, and unapologetic pursuit of success.
