Whoo, whoo

Uh, here we go, uh
(Whoo, whoo)
That's we gonna do
We're gonna go
(Whoo, whoo)
Everybody get up
Jump up, and go
(Whoo, whoo)
C'mon, everybody, c'mon!

Cause I said "Hey!
"Don't care what your brother say!"
Too busy skippin' down and play
On such a lovely summer's day

I realize my crown (yeah)
And I'm down, down,
Down, down, down
And I'm a stone
I'm a stone
Out of my time
(Yeah, I'm feelin' all right, yeah)

And I'm a stone
I'm a stone
Out of my time
(Yeah, I'm feelin' all right)

Cause I know, 'cause I know
Cause I know it, ah!
But I don't got to show it, ah!
No time, no time, no time
No time to wait
I'm (?)
And I'm back from '68

Hardcore player
All those things you say, ah
When you see me, c'mon, baby
Clap your hands and pray

And the gold, it's too small
But don't wait, it's a joke
But this year just goes on,
On, off!

Bouncin', bowlin'
Billy-boppin'
Down the alley
With the pals I'm hoppin'

No, no stoppin'
No tippin' of the (?)
Checkin' out the girls
No window shoppin'

Jumpin' around
Bumpin' the wall
Checking it out
With the basketball

Jimmy's up seven points
And we're movin'
We're passin' 'round the joints
Yeah, yeah, yeah

And well I sing the vocals
And I fill my lungs
And here it come out
It's a song, song, song
It's a Sunday song
I sang and we sing
And we never sang before
'Till now...
(?)

And now we return to
"The Island Of Dr. Death"!
A Gwen Martin production!

Scientist: No soul? No soul?
But that's impossible.
Look a little bit closer.
There's got to be something in there!
Something deep, deep, down inside
Something inside to lust for money
Or fame

Assistant: No, I'm sorry
There's nothing in there
No... it's completely devoid
Of everything
Except for...
Hello...
What's this?!

Whoo, whoo

Uh, here we go now
(Whoo, whoo)
C'mon everybody jump up
And we're gonna
(Whoo, whoo)
That's what we gonna do
We're gonna go
(Whoo, whoo)

Aw, yeah

'Cause I said "Hey!
"Don't care what your brother say!"
Too busy skippin' down and play
On such a lovely summer's day

And I'm a stone
I'm a stone
Out of my time
(Yeah, I'm feelin' all right)

And I'm a stone
I'm a stone
Out of my time
(Yeah, I'm feelin' all right)

And I'm a stone
I'm a stone
Out of my time
(Yeah, I'm feelin' all right)

'Cause I'm a stone...
(I'm down on Peppyrock Street!)

Buzz over... sunny... lake music...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of BTK's song, "Peppyrock", are all about having a good time with friends during the summer. The song starts with an energetic "Whoo, whoo" that sets the tone for the rest of the piece. The singer encourages everyone to join in, jump up and go have fun, ignoring negative comments from others. The chorus repeats the phrase "I'm a stone, out of my time" which may signify feeling disconnected with reality or norms, and instead feeling carefree and whimsical.

The song then delves into the singer's joys and experiences during summer with their friends - jumping around, playing basketball, bowling, enjoying music and crackling jokes. The bridge breaks the narration by introducing a conversation between a scientist and their assistant about a subject devoid of emotions and internal stirrings but the assistant ends up discovering that the subject is carrying something after all.

Overall, the song is a tribute to enjoying the simpler things in life and not worrying about conformity, judgement or societal expectations, with a special emphasis on summertime fun.

@yukiepants

Holy hell, sir, the memories associated with this song! It's still one of my eponymous 'screw you, bad day, have a GOOD MOOD' tracks, which is guaranteed to annihilate blue funks. Further, I think I know the park at the beginning of the video. If it's the one I think it is, I used togo for picnics with relatives under the big-ass willow tree when I was a kid. :) Torontonians, ahoy! Thank you for posting this.

@arog252
