1) Baby Boy Da Prince is a … Read Full Bio ↴There are two artists known as Baby Boy:
1) Baby Boy Da Prince is a rapper from New Orleans. His rap career began at the age of 16 opening for No Limit in his hometown. The name "Baby Boy" was given to him by his manager Melvin and he has always called himself "Da Prince".
In 2004 Baby Boy and a local management company, Bosshogg Entertainment, signed a deal with Extreme Entertainment.
In 2005 he opened for 50 Cent, Paul Wall, and Juvenile on tour, spreading his fame outside of New Orleans. In August, Baby Boy experienced Hurricane Katrina firsthand "On [his] block floating with everybody else." The storm left him in a trailer where he wrote new music preparing for a comeback.
In 2006 the radio station Q93 (WQUE) started playing Baby Boy's single "The Way I Live" and within three weeks, it was the number one record. It has currently peaked at number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100. Universal Republic Records took notice and signed Baby Boy Da Prince as its premiere Hip Hop act. Additionally, he recorded "The Way I Live- Saints Remix" to celebrate the New Orleans Saints recent success, and has become a success in the New Orleans community, where it is being played locally. He updated and remade the remix and let local radio station B97 (WEZB) host it on their website, where it is available for download. Marerro rapper Twinn The Rap Rocky made an answer Record called "The Way I Really Live" to diss Choppa and Baby Boy. The video can be seen here.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foafs6_pThg&watch_response
2) Baby Boy is also a Baton Rouge post-hardcore band containing 3 members of the sludge/doom metal band Thou (Josh, Andy and Mitch). So far they have only one limited tour cd released in 2010 which is also to be released as a split with Small Bones and it can be purchased from their bandcamp page: http://babyboy.bandcamp.com/

Good evening
Introducing, a West Bank, Marrero representer
Straight from West Bank, New Orleans
Baby Boyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
(Baby Boy:)
You boys think I'm crippled cause I walk with a limp
My momma had faith, never ever was a failure
Choppa City c'mon, now I'm sweatin like a welder
Now we gettin shows, makin Legends like Zelda
I was on the bench, now they got me in the game
People jumpin out of vans, now we jumpin out of planes
Man I'm a B-A-B-Y Boy
A slim lil' dude but I ride big toys
And if you're from that West Bank holla at'cha boy
And my East Bank niggaz pop a collar for ya boy
It's Baby Boy Da Prince and I'm worth 10 figures
And I'm from Marrero and this my set ni-gga~!
The lyrics to Baby Boy Da Prince's song Intro serve as a formal introduction to the artist, who hails from the West Bank area of New Orleans. The song opens with a voice introducing him as a "Marrero representer" before Baby Boy himself jumps in with a confident assertion of his prowess. He dismisses any doubts that others may have about his abilities or physical appearance, boldly proclaiming that he may be small but he rides big toys. He credits his success to his mother's faith in him and his own hard work, remarking that he's gone from being on the bench to performing on a larger stage.
Moreover, Baby Boy highlights the fact that he has elevated in his life, from doing shows to building a legion. This is evident in the line "Now we gettin shows, makin legends like Zelda", where the artist showcases his dedication and hard work in the music industry. He's affluent and proud about his achievements- revealing that he's worth "10 figures". It's clear that Baby Boy Da Prince is from Marrero and he's affiliated with his set, as evidenced in the line "this my set ni--a~!" The lyrics indicate that if you're from the East Bank, you should pop a collar for him, while he calls on the West Bank to "holla at'cha boy."

Tbh everyone saying Tupac would have been insane at this role. I think this guy did amazing
@iamisiah
Right! But Pac would of done amazing just because of the type of personality & he wore his emotions on his sleeve he would of done wonderful job as well but I only I see Tyrese doing it ! It was written for Tyrese for a reason ❤️🔥
@MayaWaya
@@iamisiah It was written for Pac. That’s why his poster is on the wall in one of the scenes. It’s paying homage to him, as he was murdered before production for this movie.
@iamisiah
@@MayaWaya I’m fully aware of that sadly he didn’t get to live long enough to reach early 2000s he would have killed this role.
@MayaWaya
@@iamisiah oh ok. I guess I just didn’t understand your last line where you said it was “written for Tyrese” 🤷🏾♀️
