Meditation
Babyfather Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Is this guy serious? Is this guy serious or what?

Twenty bands, twenty bands, twenty bands
Twenty bands, twenty bands, twenty bands
Twenty bands, twenty bands, twenty bands
Twenty bands, twenty bands, twenty bands
Twenty bands, twenty bands, twenty bands
Twenty bands, twenty bands, twenty bands

Let it out, let it out, let it out
Boy, what you crying about?
Every boy got a problem with me
Don't see things how I see
I don't know what they asking of us
Everyone got a question for us
Can they give a nigga privacy?
What is that? Where is he? Who is she?
Where is that? Who is he? What is she?
Who is that? What is he? Where is she?

Twenty bands, twenty bands, twenty bands
Twenty bands, twenty bands, twenty bands
Twenty bands, twenty bands, twenty bands
Twenty bands, twenty bands, twenty bands

Twenty bands, what it cost to start
Twenty bands, said this one is gonna flop
Twenty bands, everyone gonna see
Twenty bands, don't send for me
Twenty bands, got me up in the sky
Twenty bands, got me higher than a kite
Twenty bands, got me crying inside
Twenty bands, twenty bands, twenty bands
Twenty bands, twenty bands, twenty bands
Twenty, I don't know what you asking of me
Caught a nigga going crazy
Get these white girls out of my home

The kush rolled in, I'm dead
Pour some liquor on my head
Easy, easy

Pour some liquor on my head
Easy, easy

Overall Meaning

The Babyfather song "Meditation" is a reflection on the state of the world and the pressures that come with fame and success. The line "Is this guy serious or what?" is a rhetorical question indicating that the singer understands the world can be a confusing and intense place. The repetition of "twenty bands" serves as a metaphor for the pressure to succeed and the high price that comes with it. The singer is expressing their frustration with the constant questions and scrutiny they face, and their desire for privacy. There is a sense of internal conflict and turmoil conveyed in the lyrics, with the mention of crying and going crazy.

The final lines of the song, "The kush rolled in, I'm dead/Pour some liquor on my head/Easy, easy/Pour some liquor on my head/Easy, easy," suggest that the singer is trying to find solace in drugs and alcohol. There is a sense of resignation in these lyrics, a willingness to accept the difficulties of life and to find some sort of escape. The repetition of the phrase "easy, easy" at the end of the song can be seen as a sort of mantra, encouraging the singer to take things one step at a time and to not get overwhelmed by the pressures of life.

I can't believe people are mad at the fact that asap rocky did a freestyle on this instrumental, just let people discover music. If that's how they found this song then that's how they found this song, no reason to be pissed off because asap rocky put his fans on because of his freestyle. So don't get mad at them finding this song because of rocky or anyone else actually, just appreciate that more people are finding him so they can get hip to music they never heard before.

@user-rf6jf9uy4s

who is this guy asap rocky?

@marinewelsh9927

I agree, I just don’t like people thinking that this song was just stolen from ASAP rocky.
