Backlash Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
is barely open to
the frailty that fills me
and the fire burns my skin
and the water won't come in
to wash away the frenzy
only you can heal me
the one I've been aching for
the substitute for life
I hardly can endure
If heaven was here beside my home
I wouldn't pray for things to come
would you feel what I feel
but the fire still remains
a flaming virus in my veins
that disorts what's real
that disorts what I feel
Bring me the god
the one I've been aching for
the substitue for life
I hardly can endure
The lyrics of Backlash's song Fix seem to hint towards a person who's struggling with their emotions and desires. They are walking on a shaky ground filled with frailty, yet the fire that's burning inside them is refusing to be quenched by the water. The imagery here is one of a person who's dealing with inner turmoil and is looking for someone or something that can heal them. It's only with the help of the significant other that the person feels like they're being heard and healed. The song implies that the person is on a search for a 'god' that can act as a substitute for life, something that they cannot endure without.
The next stanza of the song continues the person's quest for inner peace, with the notion that even if heaven was beside their house, they wouldn't pray for things to change. They're not asking for the heavens to come and fix things, just for someone to understand and feel what they're feeling. The fire burning inside them is still raging like a virus in their veins, distorting what they perceive as real or fake. The lyrics here suggest a constant struggle with emotions that's making it hard for the person to function normally.
Overall, the song Fix by Backlash is an emotional journey that delves deep into a person's mind and how they perceive their reality; it talks about inner struggles, desires, and a quest for an emotional cure that can only come from within.

Hahah happens to the best of us. Start slow with light casts and work your way up. Good luck man π

Ha! I've been casting for many years. I still get my occasional unfixable basklash... and have to cut off a few yards off the top of the spool.
Even pros do it. Gary Yamamoto (Senko inventor) started going to mainly using Spinning reels to avoid backlashing. I find myself using my spinning gear more often when not in slop.

I've had my share of backlashes. But once you master the baitcaster reel, there's nothing else like it. Smooth casting and deadly accurate.

Completely agree man! Easy to pitch and cast, feather the spool, one had toss, etc. Thanks for watching π

Really great video. Really appreciate how you show a close up view of how the loops on the reel is catching and preventing the line from pulling out. Makes it easier to understand what's causing the problem instead of only seeing a mess of intersecting lines.

Hey Debo, just wanted to let you know after fishing 20 plus years with a spinning reel i watched this video and the other over hand and roll cast videos and decided to try a baitcaster. Because of your vids I was extremely successful. I had more fun this year because I had a new challenge! So thank you brother, I guess even an old dog can learn new tricks!ππ»πΊ
