Voices
Bad Blood Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hearing voices never before
So hard to get it all out
Wrong decisions give me some more
Redemptions near it's coming all out

One step closer
Vivid memories
Scream and yell torn apart
Turning blue in the face
One more word one more sound
Advice is given to take

This is the sound of the voices
Hindsight is easy to see
This is the sound of the voices
Bleeding is planting the seed
There's no need coming clean
Suffering apathy

Explaint it from the beginning
Nobody's listening

Everyone talks about your voice and singing and how you nail all these things - and with good reason- but is nobody else thinking about how goddamn expressive his face gets? His eyebrows, eyes and mouth all change drastically with each style and in between them, from the resting intensity to the twists and turns of each expression to hit each new style, from screaming to high notes to slow, long, drawn out ones, he seems to have a new expression each time. Just... damn!

I love his Bjork face in the Pokemon medley. Looks like he knows something we don't. :-D

Kris Doyle well alduin has already mentioned it but I'll just talk about singing itself. What makes you talk or sing is basically air, it hits your vocal chords and make them jiggle so that they can produce sound. Here's the fun part, what differentiates between a good singing voice and a relatively worse voice is where the sound resonates. A chest voice is the easiest to produce as it's basically how you talk. Lower notes require more space to resonate, so they usually echo in your mouth's lower parts which make your chest shake, hence the name "chest voice". Head voice is brighter and higher. Due to high notes' wave length, they need less space to resonate so you have to move the place where the sound resonates from your mouth to somewhere on the front part of your face, eg sinuses. That makes your head a bit uncomfortable if you're not accustomed to, that's why it's called a head voice. Mixed voice is somewhere in between and belting is moving the place of resonance to a higher place without actually changing your register. (chest, mixed or high, though you cant' belt a head voice, if you want to sound higher you need to move to a different register called "whisper". It's so narrow that finding and hitting whistle notes are so hard) That's why his expressions are so different, he's moving the sound!

I wasn't gonna mention it because the singing itself blew me away everytime, but I definitely noticed how intense his expression gets. I bet it tingles after. He's definitely not lipsyncing. :P
