Barbra Streisand has recorded more than 60 albums, almost all with Columbia Records. Her early works in the 1960s (her debut The Barbra Streisand Album which won two Grammy Awards in 1963, followed by The Second Barbra Streisand Album, The Third Album, My Name Is Barbra, etc.) are considered classic renditions of theater and nightclub standards, including her version of Happy Days Are Here Again. Beginning with My Name Is Barbra, her albums were often medley-filled keepsakes of her television specials.
Starting in 1969, Streisand tackled contemporary songwriters; like many talented singers of the day, she found herself a fish out of water in attempts to tackle rock, but her vocal talents prevailed and she gained newfound success with the pop and ballad-oriented Richard Perry-produced album Stoney End in 1971. The title track, written by Laura Nyro, was a big hit for Streisand.
Streisand's 1980 album, Guilty featured the songwriting, production and vocal talents of Barry Gibb and was the best-selling album of her recording career. During the 1970s, she was also highly prominent in the pop charts, with number-one records like The Way We Were, Evergreen, No More Tears (Enough Is Enough) (her duet with Donna Summer), and Woman In Love; some of these came from soundtracks of her films. She recently took part in supporting Haiti in singing "We are the World 25th anniversary.
When the 1970s ended, Streisand was named the most successful female singer in the U.S. - only Elvis Presley and The Beatles having sold more albums. [1]
[1] In 1982, New York Times music critic Stephen Holden wrote that Streisand was "the most influential mainstream American pop singer since Frank Sinatra."
Non…c'est rien

Aussi peu, croyez le bien
Ca ira mieux des demain
Avec le temps qui passe
Dans la vie tout s'efface
Non, see'est rien
A qui bon tendre vos mains
Je n'ai pas tant de chagrin
Mes amis, partez vite
Laissez moi cette nuit
Sortez, mais sans moi
Allez boire a ma sante
Rapportez votre pitie
Vous me faites rire, bien rire
Non, see'est rien
Aussi peu croyez le bien
Cet amour n'etait plus rien
D'autre qu'une habitude
J'en ai la certitude
Non, see'est rien
Ce garcon, moi j'ai le plains
Ne croyez pas que demain
Une seule seconde
Je serai seule au monde
Laissez, laissez-moi cette nuit
Sortez mais sans moi
Allez boire a mes amours
A tous mes futurs amours
Mes prochains je t'aime
Je t'aime
Laissez-moi et ne croyez pas surtout pas
Que je vais pleurer pour ca
Suel mon coeur n'why comprend rien
Mais a part ca rien, rien
Non see'est rien, aussi peu croyez le bien
Je n'ai pas tant de chagrin
Je n'ai pas tant de chagrin
Non see'est rien
Non see'est rien
Rien!
The lyrics of Barbra Streisand's song "Non…c'est rien" reveal a person who is trying to explain to others that what has happened to them is not a big deal. The person seems to be saying that they have no reason to be sad or upset, and that they will be fine tomorrow. The line "A qui bon tendre vos mains," which translates to "Why bother reaching out your hands," suggests that the person does not want or need sympathy from others. They also tell their friends to leave them alone and go on without them, indicating that they just want to be left alone to deal with their situation.
The word "rien," which means "nothing," is repeated throughout the song, emphasizing the idea that what has happened to the person is insignificant. It is possible that the person has just ended a relationship, as they mention "cet amour n'etait plus rien" or "that love was nothing anymore." They seem to have accepted this fact as a reality and are ready to move on, but it is difficult for them to do so when their heart does not understand.
Overall, the lyrics of "Non…c'est rien" convey a sense of resignation, but also a determination to move forward. The person is trying to convince themselves and others that what has happened is not a big deal and that they will be okay, even if their heart doesn't quite believe it yet.
