Our intention is to make relive the '70s progressive-rock love .
This project born from the keyboardist Luca Zabbini , pianist and composer at the "O.Vecchi" musical institute in Modena.
His passion for famous keyboardist Keith Emerson (Emerson,Lake & Palmer) , has increased in him the desire to play a full range of style , from classical to rock and jazz. Luca is the composer of many songs of the band and since 1990 he played in several bands (rock, blues, funky, as classical pianist , several jam-sessions).
During the summer of 2004 the bass player GB Giorgi and the drummer Giacomo Calabria joined to the band.
Giambattista Giorgi , young bassist influenced by rock sounds with big passion for jazz.
Giambattista and Luca already played together in 1996 with a progressive tribute band (ELP,PFM,ecc...)
Giacomo Calabria , ex drummer of the band , took a part in the recording of album "Rebus" (2009) , and then came out .

Promises
Barock Project Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Ghosts of your memories are floating all around
All of the years are drawing
Lines on my face
Autumn is callinng, stuck in this crazy town
When did it happen, I lost more than I found?
Now that the leaves are falling
I've no need to praise you
Don't want forgiveness from you
Feels like falling
I know you see me now
Like I'm done somehow
With promises
Sequence of numbers, cash isn't worth a sound
See seven wonders, the beauty from the ground
Before your time is running
(Nobody cares)
I've no need to praise you
Don't want forgiveness from you
Feels like falling
I know you see me now
Like I'm done somehow
With promises
The opening verse of Barock Project's song Promises seems to depict a person standing by the river, longing for an escape from the memories that have been haunting them. They seem to be drowning in the thoughts, where ghosts of your (someone who could be a past lover) memories are floating all around, leaving lines on their face, symbolizing the visible marks left by age and weariness. Autumn has come, trapping the singer in a "crazy town" where they seem to have lost more than they found. The leaves falling represent the end of a chapter in life, and yet nothing really changes. The singer is seemingly stuck in their misery and can't seem to escape it.
The chorus narrates a sense of bitterness, where the singer resents someone for something they did. They have no reason to praise that person and don't seek forgiveness from them. They feel like they are falling, and somehow, the person who wronged them seems to see them as done or defeated with the promises they might have made. The following "Sequence of numbers, cash isn't worth a sound/See seven wonders, the beauty from the ground/Before your time is running" could be about ignoring the monetizing of life and instead seeking to appreciate the natural beauty of the world, but it eventually ends with "Nobody cares," which could represent the singer's resignation to their life and a feeling of lack of control.
