I went to a showing of the movie for the first time and it was amazing. Everyone cheered and lit up glow sticks when riff raffs part came on that moment was the closest thing to magic everyone was happy and singing to it. I love this movie now.

It does sound really different. Also during the first part of Riff Raff’s part, you can barely hear him. I wonder if it’s because this audio only has one half of the stereo playing.

Saw the theatre show lastnight, already need to listen to this song again as its still stuck in my head. I often wonder when they will finally remake this. Especially since drag and musicals are far more popular now. But on the other hand, I don't want them to remake it because you just know its going to be so OTT.

Weird... they're using a different sound mix here than in older versions of the movie. The way I realized it was at 0:40, Susan Sarandon sings "blackest niiiiight" differently.

Yes, I believe this is the mix from the Blu-ray. They used the incorrect vocal take for Susan Sarandon on this song, which is why the lip sync is slightly off. Kind of does her a disservice, as it’s not a particularly good take. I think the original vocal that was in the movie was the same one from the soundtrack album, which is much better.

I saw a late night screening of this on Halloween and everyone buys little prop kits at the theater and we all had glow sticks in the air during this. So fun, going to be thinking about it for a while. Also so glad everyone agrees riff raff’s part is amazing lol.

This was Susan Sarandon’s first time singing in a role, but Barry Bostwick had previously performed a singing role in Grease. He was Danny Zuko when it premiered in Chicago. If you think it’s a stretch for him to play in a risqué musical like Rocky Horror when he was in Grease, it’s actually less of one than you think. In its original release in Chicago, Grease was much more adult in content, described by Wikipedia as a raunchy, raw, aggressive, vulgar show. Plus, both stories talked about corruption of the innocent, with Brad and Janet abandoning their morals in Rocky Horror and with Sandy shedding her wholesome image to win Danny in Grease.
