In 1978, five of his albums were on the best-selling charts simultaneously, a feat equaled only by Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen and Johnny Mathis. He has recorded a string of Billboard hit singles and multi-platinum albums that have resulted in his being named Radio & Records number one Adult Contemporary artist and winning three straight American Music Awards for Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist. Several well-known entertainers have given Manilow their "stamp of approval," including Sinatra, who was quoted in the 1970s regarding Manilow, "He's next." In 1988, Bob Dylan stopped Manilow at a party, hugged him and said, "Don't stop what you're doing, man. We're all inspired by you."
As well as producing and arranging albums for other artists, such as Bette Midler and Dionne Warwick, Manilow has written songs for musicals, films, and commercials. From February 2005 to December 30, 2009, he was the headliner at the Las Vegas Hilton, performing hundreds of shows before ending relationship with the hotel. From March 2010, he has headlined at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. He has sold more than 80 million records worldwide
See the Show Again

Champagne, all around
It's been so long since I've been alone?
Sometimes, it gets me down
And you
You're pretty as a picture
And I don't even know your name
But I sure would like to meet you?
I've been singin these love songs forever
Sometimes the words don't make much sense
So I'm living it all through the music
Using last nights compliments
I've been playing for thousands of people
Sometimes, it just never ends
But the look in your eyes feels so good to me
Why don't you see the show again
God knows, there's not much I can say
I don't have time for love in my life
But if I ever thought, about changin my mind
It might be with you, tonight
I've been on the road, for so many weeks now
And I'm losin track of time?
Tryin? To make everyone happy
I wonder what's really mine
And you
You're pretty as a picture
And I don't even know your name
But I sure would like to meet you?
Why don't you see the show again
The song "See The Show Again" by Barry Manilow tells the story of a lonely musician who is always on the road, playing love songs that don't always make sense to him. Despite the adoration he receives from thousands of fans, he feels empty and disconnected. However, when he sees a beautiful stranger in the audience, he feels a glimmer of hope and connection. He longs to meet her, but recognizes the fleeting nature of his life and love.
The lyrics are bittersweet and explore the complex emotions of a performer who is adored for his music, but struggles with loneliness and disconnection. The repetition of the phrase "Why don't you see the show again" suggests a yearning for connection and recognition, but ultimately acknowledges the transience of life and love.
Overall, "See The Show Again" is a poignant reflection on the universal human desire for connection and love, set against the backdrop of the glamorous but isolating world of a touring musician.
