When you're gonna stop breaking my heart
I don't wanna be another one
Paying for the things I never done
Don't let go
Don't let go
To my love

Can I get to your soul
Can you get to my thoughts
Can you promise we won't let go
All the things that I need
All the things that you need
You can make it feel so real.

Cuz you can't deny
You've blown my mind
When I touch your body
I feel I'm loosing control
Cuz you can't deny
You've blown my mind
When I see you baby
I just don't wanna let go

I hate to see you cry
Your smile is a beautiful lie
I hate to see you cry
My love's dying inside

I can fix all those lies
But baby, when I run, I'm running to you
You won't see me cry, I'm hiding inside
My heart is in pain but I'm smiling for you

Can I get to your soul
Can you get to my...

Overall Meaning

In "Stereo Love," the singer pleads with their lover to stop breaking their heart, as they can't handle the pain of paying for things that they haven't done. The singer urges their lover not to let go of their love and promises to never let go themselves. The second verse explores the idea of a deeper connection between the two lovers - the singer wonders if they can reach each other's souls and promises to make all the things the other needs feel so real. The chorus repeats the idea that the singer is completely blown away by their lover and doesn't want to let go, even though their heart is hurting.

The third verse begins with the singer expressing their sadness and inability to handle seeing their lover cry, even though they acknowledge that their lover's smile is often a beautiful but false facade. The singer offers to try and fix the problems causing their lover's pain, promising to run to them when they need it, and hide their own pain to avoid causing more hurt. The song ends with a repetition of the chorus and the promise of the singer's undying love.

"Stereo Love" first gained popularity in Romania in 2009, where it was released as the lead single from Edward Maya's debut album. The song quickly became internationally successful, charting high in multiple countries and earning platinum certifications in the United States and Canada.
