You know better, you know better
You know better, you know better
You know better, you know better
We should go and make a baby
You been patient, you deserve me on the daily
You ain't really with the begging
We should go and make a baby
You been patient, you deserve me on the daily
You ain't really with the begging
You know better than be talking to me crazy
You know better, you know better
You know better, you know better
'Cause you know this, yeah you know this
I ain't one for being bogus
Got this weight up on my shoulders
Girl you treat me like a bogey
I've been stressed out, keep me stress free
You've been waiting for me so long
Couple days I had to prolong
Hold on, hold on
You know better, you know better
You know better, you know better
(You know better, you know better)
(You know better, you know better)
You know better, you know better
You know better, you know better
The lyrics to Bas's song "Sanufa" are about a couple who have been through ups and downs in their relationship, but have come to the realization that they belong together. The repeated refrain of "you know better" is directed towards the woman in the relationship, who is being promised love and affection by the singer. He expresses his desire to start a family with her, but emphasizes that she is not begging for his attention, indicating mutual respect in their relationship.
The singer acknowledges that he has been under pressure and stress, but the woman in his life has been patient and supportive. He pleads with her to continue to wait for him, despite some delays that have occurred. The line "got this weight up on my shoulders" suggests that the singer has been holding on to some burdens for a while, but with the support of his partner he can work through them and be stress-free.
The song comes off as a tribute to a strong relationship through the good and the bad, filled with trust and mutual understanding. It's a message of hope and assurance that, no matter what challenges come their way, they can make it out together. The song ends on a positive, hopeful note with the lines repeated again, "You know better, you know better".
