We Are Not Alone
Basement Jaxx Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
We are not alone I see you up there watching me
Giving me some company
It's so nice
It's a comfort
Searching for eternity
To fill this empty space in me
So nice, we have contact
All along we're not alone
We are not alone
I know there has to be a little more something, something
I feel it rising up inside of me
Excited it in my chemistry
Feel it Connected by telepathy
Extra-dimensionally, it's so nice
We found contact
We found contact
The sky is not the limit It's so nice
We have contact
Star visitors The sky is not the limit
The lyrics of Basement Jaxx's song We Are Not Alone remind us that there is more to the world than meets the eye and that we are not alone in the universe. The first stanza opens up with "The sky is not the limit", which is a direct reference to the limitations of our human imagination and our lack of understanding of the universe. The line "We are not alone" affirms the connection that humans have with each other, and it also suggests that there are other intelligent beings out there. When the singer says, "I see you up there watching me, giving me some company", it's as if she is acknowledging the existence of extraterrestrial life and the possibility of communication with them.
The second stanza expands on this idea of connection and communication, with the singer searching for a deeper understanding of the universe and her place in it. She feels a sense of emptiness and a need to fill it with something other than what is available on Earth. This search leads her to contact with other beings, a kind of telepathy that connects her to something "extra-dimensionally". The final line of the song, "Star visitors, the sky is not the limit", is a succinct and powerful statement that reminds us that there is more to our existence than we can see and understand.
Overall, We Are Not Alone is a song that challenges us to think beyond our immediate surroundings and look up at the stars. It encourages us to think about the vastness of the universe and our place in it, and to recognize that there might be others out there who are just like us.

@Noey De Leon I have a Scomiche playlist of all their Songs of the Week. I have to update it though, because the songs will get occasionally deleted, but it's on my page under playlists.

Good holy freaking crap. Imagine this being the song you hear as you slide gracefully on a conveyor belt into a new super theme park with giant colorful ferris-wheels and tall monorails which hang down from the tracks.
"Paradisical" is something I'd use to describe this song in terms of what it puts in my head when I close my eyes and listen.
