The roots of the band's style sink deep into the sound of legendary 80s American and European bands such as Manilla Road, Omen, Cirith Ungol, Brocas Helm, Manowar, Jag Panzer and Heavy Load. The band's name was in fact taken from the lyrics to Heavy Load's song 'Singing Swords' ('I loved the battleroar').Their third album 'To Death and Beyond' was released in 2008 and received excellent reviews worldwide. Battleroar is also known for being a good live band and they have played all over Europe, including Spain, Italy, Ireland, Belgium and Germany.
In 2009 the band parted ways with guitar player Manolis Karazeris and vocalist Marco Concoreggi. They were temporarily replaced by Stelios Sovolos on guitar and John Papanikolaou (ex Innerwish) on vocals. This line-up played some shows in Holland and Greece.
In September 2010 the band announced that Antreas Sotiropoulos (Everdome, Wolfcry) is the permanent new guitar player.
Currently the band is working on new music and rehearsing every week, while searching thoroughly for a new singer that fits with the band.

Victorious Path
Battleroar Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
A flash by the blade as the sword cuts the speed of the sound
And the titans shall scream and cry out
Valhallan warriors, masters of battle
We know our fate lies in the hands of the gods
Armed for battle, forces of Fire and Frost
Inside my dreams I have seen
My death, my glory and a life full of hatred
Trapped in a cage with my sword and my shield
Destiny calls so I'm flying away to the gods
Fight, We stand strong full of might
Victorious path we ride
Bearing the mark of destruction and triumph
Unchained and victorious we rise
Bursting the nightsky with red glowing metal
We march on the Road of the Light
Fight, We stand strong full of might
Victorious path we ride
The lyrics of Victorious Path are replete with imagery of battle and glory. The first few lines set the scene for the song, with "scanned bodies fall[ing] to the ground", and a "flash by the blade as the sword cuts the speed of the sound". This is followed by a reference to "titans", who are screaming and crying out. These warriors are Valhallan, and are "masters of battle".
The next few lines convey a sense of resignation to fate. The warriors know that their "fate lies in the hands of the gods", and are thus "armed for battle". They represent the "forces of Fire and Frost", which is a metaphor for their indomitable spirit and strength. In the midst of this, the singer relates that he has seen his "death, [his] glory, and a life full of hatred" in his dreams. It is evident that he is trapped in a cycle of violence and warfare, which he cannot escape from.
The final section of the song is the most empowering. The warriors are "unchained and victorious", and they bear the "mark of destruction and triumph". They march on the "Road of the Light", with their weapons glowing red in the night sky. There is a sense of inevitability to their mission, as they ride on the "Victorious Path". The final lines of the song are a declaration of strength, as the warriors "stand strong full of might" and fight for their cause.
