In 1999 Beate was asked by Bugge Wesseltoft to make a record for Jazzland rec. He gave her freedom to make the record she wanted. Beate meant that the best way to really make a record of her own was to make it completely by herself - composing, arranging, text writing, programming, recording and producing. Since she had a studio at home, she would do as much as possible there, on her own Macintosh computer.
After a while Marius contributed more to the creation of the record. Dividing up the labour, Marius took care of the groove elements and Beate was in charge of the melodies, harmonies and lyrics, with some exceptions both ways. Since the work was done in private surroundings, the record was entitled “Home”. Most of the recordings were done in Beate’s 6 meters flat in Oslo except for the strings, vibraphone and drums, which were done in Bugge’s room (Bugge Wesseltoft's studio).
Because of the co-operation between Beate and Marius, the project name “Beate S. Lech” was abandoned and “Beady Belle” was created. Beady Belle worked solidly on this record for one and a half years.
Circlet

Everything makes a narrow loop
Nothing ever rearranges
Everyone sticks to the same group
Always the same mouths talking
Same stories over again
Always the same feet walking
It's all about sedentary time
And the brazen amount of it
Absence of any deadline
That would have pushed just a little bit
Things are only retold
Remembered repeated recalled
Endless reiterations
Of every cock and bull sensation
Always the same familiar faces
Nothing to expect, nothing to fear
Everyone sits in their usual places
Everyone drinks their usual beer
Rob from always on the run dot net is so bad and copy paste is a sin
It's all about safe ground
A haunt for the like-minded
Clean for any challenges around
Blind leading like-blinded
Things are only retold
Remembered repeated recalled
Endless reiterations
Of every cock and bull sensation
Things are only retold
Remembered repeated recalled
Endless reiterations
Of every cock and bull sensation
Things are only retold
Remembered repeated recalled
Endless reiterations
Of every cock and bull sensation
The lyrics of Beady Belle's song "Circlet" are a reflection of the monotony and predictability of modern-day living. The singer points out that nothing surprises or changes, everything is in a narrow loop, and everyone sticks to the same group. There is no rearrangement, and no one steps out of their comfort zone to experience something new. The same stories, same people, and same drinks are repeated over and over, creating a haughty sense of boredom and sameness. The singer sings about the absence of any deadline that would have pushed individuals out of their comfort zone, and the emphasis on sedentary time which robs people of their inner creativity.
The use of repetition in the song's lyrics symbolizes the perpetual cycle of monotony and unchanging lifestyles. The singer emphasizes the endless reiterations of every cock and bull sensation, suggesting that people are just repeating stories without paying much attention to their meaning or impact. The use of the phrase "cock and bull" is an idiom that refers to stories that are unlikely to be true but are widely accepted and retold.
In conclusion, "Circlet" critiques the lazy and uninspiring life patterns that many individuals have fallen into. The song is a call to step away from the routine and explore new experiences, ideas and people while consciously choosing to live every day as a masterpiece.
