Got To Get You Trapped Under Ice
Beatallica Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You are in Hell, you're in a shell
Only ice iz what you'll find there
A frozen core, can't take no more
You'll freeze right out your fuckin' mind there

OOOOOH!! Then I suddenly see you
OOOOOH!! Did I tell you I'll freeze you
Every single day of your life?

What can you do, what can you see?
All they have iz M-TV there
Can't move at all, can't hear your call
Bananarama'z all they play there

OOOOOH!! You were meant to be freezing
OOOOOH!! Crystallized and you're sneezing
No one knowz or hearz what you say

Got to get you trapped under ice!

You cannot run, you cannot hide
Cuz the ice securely holdz you
Wrapped up tight, can't move, break free
Hand of Doom iz so fuckin' cold, ooooooh!

OOOOOH!! Then I suddenly see you
OOOOOH!! Did I tell you I'll freeze you
Every single day in the ice?

Got to get you trapped under ice!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Beatallica's "Got To Get You Trapped Under Ice" depict a scenario where the singer is stuck in a place resembling Hell, characterized by extremely cold temperatures where the only thing that exists is ice. The singer is apparently trapped and unable to move or communicate with anyone outside this hellish terrain. The reference to MTV and Bananarama could be interpreted as a symbol for the shallowness of the entertainment that the singer is subjected to in this kind of inescapable confinement. The lyrics also suggest that the Hand of Doom has a hold on the singer and is making it impossible to break free. The repetitive "OOOOH!!" in the chorus adds a sense of dismay as the singer realises that there is no escape from the excruciating cold and misery in which they find themselves.

The song intermingles elements of Metallica's "Trapped Under Ice" and The Beatles' "Got To Get You Into My Life." The lyrics playfully riff on James Hetfield's vocals and Kirk Hammett's guitar riffs from Metallica's "Trapped Under Ice" while also reminding us of the structure of The Beatles' love songs through the classic "got to get you" couplet mainly seen in their "Got To Get You Into My Life." Beatallica's hybrid style of Beatles and Metallica mashup attracts a global audience of both Beatles and Metallica fans.

This is the best Beatallica song title

All I can say is that I'm glad that I discovered Beatallica before they had an official release. To this day, the Gray Album is my favorite one. Both it and A Garage Dayz Nite, though having lower productions to me sound more organic. It's too bad that neither has ever been put out on cd. Try as I might, I just can't get into the reworked versions on the official albums.

@ShadoweFlash

I can appreciate that this version has better artistry, in both the vocals & especially the guitars. The blending (or interpolation- or whatever) of both songs is why i love Beatallica. but i have to say- i got spoiled on the 1st version & although it may be a little rougher, it's a little more fun. As long as you guys keep at it though, I don't really care. Always a phenomenal show !!!!

FEKKIN CLASSIC!!! HELL YEAH!

@Kambreeyah

Original recording with the screwup is classic. Bring it back guys or at least offer it as a B side!

@Martinroque77

@monoregio

@FightingJEDI

@maniacmike1114 Trapped under the ice or Got to get you into my life?

@HardcoreKing18

Funnily enough, the original version of Got to get you trapped under ice. Beatallica has remade many of their songs from older albums where the quality and production wasn't very good. Sometimes the originals are funnier or sound more like the real songs they've been forged from.
