This is one of the nicest sounding OD
pedals I’ve owned and Ive had a lot of boutiques.
Can be used as a boost if you want or front end to another OD.
Price is reasonable also..

Nice pedal, and Don is a class act. I laughed when I figured out the name: it's their take on a Nobels (pronounced "no-bells") so BW named it Belle. Nicely done.

Truetone VSXO (VS side) & their Open Road is based on an ODR-1.
I must say, the J Rockett Chicken Soup is my fav ODR-1 take, especially stacked with my Nobels ODR-1 Mini

Vemuram Shanks ODS-1 is the best iteration of the ODR-1 but it's SUPER expensive. But probably the best sounding version so far.

Great pedal please set you tube amp on clean then raise the volume to at least 4-6 and the use the overdrive to attenuate slightly gain up and you have tone for days

This pedal look similar to the MXR Timmy. Some times I'm using a Timmy to push an Orange Crush amp. Also I'm stacking it with a Catlinbread DLS. Can anyone compare the MXR Timmy and the Belle OD?

Nice sounding pedal! Love the tones.... But what the heck was that click/pop at 2:18? I hope it was an audible mechanical click heard through Don's voice over microphone and not an electrical switch related pop heard through the amp.

All the pedals companies should include what amp/speaker they designed the pedal around. I mean, if you design a MIAB pedal, you probably are using a Fender amp in your lab.

All the pedal reviewers should get together, decide the best few amps/speakers to use for demos, so we can do a true apples to apples comparison across channels and pedals.

Sadly, the way things are now, I have a really hard time finding ways to compare pedals unless they are both being compared in the same video. I'd love to be able to pull up Joe's video of some Plexi pedal, then some other channels review of a different Plexi pedal, and have both be played through a Tweed Deluxe with speaker X. Only THEN can I really know the difference between pedals.

Steve B, glad you like the tone! Those are Gibson Custombuckers that are only available in Gibson Custom guitars. They're great moderate-output, vintage-style pickups. Might I suggest the Seymour Duncan Antiquity Humbucker?

Why are all these demos being made with the Fender Tonemaster amps? Please, give us a demo using the DRRI or something fully tube. The TM's are nice amps with useful features but the low end is muted/cardboard and the high end is brittle and piercing. Switching to the TC, much better! This pedal most likely sounds much better into a real amp. Great playing though, getting those chicken picken licks working!

@chris rocco I would say Timmy's are great for a transparent tone through a marshall. They don't really color anything and don't add midrange. Great pedals. Klons can sound great at low gain settings, but can get a little honky if cranked. And you just can't go wrong with a Boss Blues Driver. They work with everything and are pretty transparent. They won't cut bass like a klon or a Tubescreamer type. Now if you WANT higher gain, I absolutely love the way the SD1 sounds with Marshalls. It's the classic 80s Slash/Schenker/etc tone. Leon Todd is a YouTuber that has a lot of videos using the SD1 and Marshall, which he's a big advocate of that combo.

@kommi1974 Cool. But yes, i bought one the first day they were available. I've used ODR1 pedals for years. And same thing with them... They work better with Fenders than other amps. I didn't say it sounded bad, just that they are voiced better for Fenders. Even Brian has said that. Ask anyone in Nashville about it. It's kinda well known that the ODR circuit is one of the holy trinity pedals for fender amps lol.

Hmm wondering now how it compares to a Timmy. Regarding Drives, I also have the standard Tumnus, a standard Plexidrive, and a Timmy V3, Xotic RC Booster and was wondering what the ODR-1 sound would add to my setup.

Hi, JD K5HH. Those two definitely have some similarities in both their features and gain range. From a tonal perspective, I would say the Tumnus has a much more audible mid-range boost to it, whereas the Belle is meant to be pretty flat. The Tumnus is great if you want to step on a pedal that helps get your signal out front. The Belle would be more for if you don't want to change the sound but just add some drive. Depending on how you set the controls they could have some overlap, but they definitely each have their own vibe.

Tumnus has a mid hump indeed, like a Klon only retains more bass. Still love my Tumnus (non Deluxe) after many years.

Quite different... this circuit is quite neutral EQ wise, where the Tumnus and other "Klone" based circuits are pretty heavy in the 1khz region

I don't know why but all Wampler's pedals sound plasticky to me... from the fuzzes to the drives to this take on the Nobels, they all have this same weird (harsh) frequency
