Wubble-U were a dance music act of the mid 1990s that were signed to BMG's 'indie' label Indolent. They comprised of Laurant Webb, Justin Bailey, Dave Pine and Dave Coker and were most famous for the single Petal. This was originally a 1994 release that featured the comedian Stanley Unwin. A 1998 re-release took the track to number 55 in the UK Chart.
The band also remixed such artists as Madness, Gabriel, The Cardigans, the 60ft Dolls and Lisa Morish to name but a few. Signed to BMG in 1997 the bands album "Where's Wubble-U" received crital acclaim and laid down the ground rules for post punk pop/electronic non-sense dance album of the future.

Further remixes of 'Petal' feature on this single, which unfortunately are a little on the bizarre side, lagging behind the Freestylers superior version. Petal
Wubble-U Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's difficult these days to get good grass
If you believe in me
If you believe in love
(X times)
Follow me into blue skies above
You fascinate me
You-you-you petal
(X times)
Done, relax
She loves me
She's not so loved
To be an England lad, all summer in joy
Deep love, no question there, lad
If you believe in me (X times)
Follow me into blue skies above
You-you-you petal
You-you fascinate me
(X times)
Suddenly the lad, on the realization that the whole universe is just like that, forgot he shut me out and began to wobble
This is Stanley and me singing off, eh
With wubble-U, all joy-filled
Goodbye now
The song Petal by Wubble-U is a blend of uplifting melody and thought-provoking lyrics. The beginning of the song talks about the difficulty of finding good grass, which can be interpreted as a metaphor for finding beauty and happiness in life. The refrain “If you believe in me, if you believe in love” suggests that love and belief are the keys to finding beauty and happiness.
The song then shifts to talking about the fascination of the person the singer is addressing, calling her a “petal” that fascinates him. The repetition of “you-you-you” emphasizes the focus on this person and their captivating qualities. The lines “Done, relax / She loves me / She's not so loved” suggest that the singer’s relationship with this person is unbalanced, with the singer feeling more loved than the other person.
The song concludes with the sudden realization that the universe is full of fascination and beauty, and the lyrics “began to wobble” suggest a sense of excitement and wonder at this realization. Overall, Petal is a song that encourages listeners to believe in the beauty of the world and the power of love to find it.

Just checking in to this crew to make sure you're all still here and believing...
STILL... the most memorable song of 1994 I can think of as a Jedi Christian.
This is supreme.
Thank you... Isn't creativity and faith just fantastic? When, like Mariah Carey, you 'believe'.
I certainly believe in this track, and I'm mates with high ranking priests.

If I had to name one song to have in a film about my childhood it would be this a thousand times over. My dad used to dance with me around the house when I was around the age of 3. Ever since then this has been mine and my dads song (along with many others) I come back to this song to remember the days when it was so easy and beautiful. I was bought up as a mix of a flower child and a moon child. My aunt and uncle are hippies and I’ve been to so many celebrations where I can just roll around in the flowers and then star gaze and listen to good music. This song makes me feel at peace and at home 🥰
