In 1958, Ben Nelson joined a doo wop group, The Five Crowns. Later that same year, The Drifters' manager fired the members of the group and replaced them with The Five Crowns, who had performed several engagements with The Drifters. He co-wrote the first hit by the new version of The Drifters, "There Goes My Baby" (1959). He also sang lead, using his birth name, on "Save the Last Dance for Me," a song written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman, "Dance With Me," "This Magic Moment," "I Count the Tears," and other The Drifters hits.
In 1960 he left the group after failing to gain a salary increase and a fairer share of the group's royalties. At this point he assumed the more memorable stage name Ben E. King in preparation for a solo career. Remaining on Atlantic, King scored his first solo hit with the stylish, Latin-tinged ballad "Spanish Harlem" (1961). "Stand by Me" was his next recording. "Stand by Me", written by King along with Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller was voted one of the Songs of the Century by the Recording Industry Association of America. "Stand by Me" and "Spanish Harlem" were named as two of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll and were both also given a Grammy Hall of Fame Award.
King's records continued to place well on the pop charts until 1963, when British pop bands began to dominate the popular music scene. His hits after 1963 were "What is Soul?" (1967), "Supernatural Thing, part 1" (1975), and the re-issue in 1986 of "Stand by Me" following the song's use as the theme music to the movie of the same name.

Yeah...
King Joe
Y mírame ahora yo no te puedo olvidar
Y mírame ahora no te puedo olvidar
Y mírame ahora no te puedo olvidar
Ya no quiero amores, ya no mas traiciones
Ya no quiero amores, ya no mas traiciones
Ya no quiero amores, ya no mas traiciones
Ya no quiero amores, ya no mas traiciones
Ya no quiero amores, ya no mas traiciones
Ya no quiero amores, ya no mas traiciones
Ya no quiero amores, ya no mas traiciones
Ya no quiero amores, ya no mas traiciones
Yeah

The lyrics of Ben E. King's song "Amore" (Love) depict the singer's emotional journey after a failed relationship. The song starts with the singer expressing their initial optimism, hoping that this time the relationship would work and that their partner would gradually love them. However, they soon realize the harsh reality that all beginnings come to an end, and that their love has reached its final chapter. The singer admits that they cannot forget their former partner, but they no longer desire love or any more betrayals.
As the song continues, the singer reflects on the past and expresses their surprise at losing their partner, as it feels like it was just yesterday when they were being told that they belonged to each other. They fantasize about going back in time and reclaiming their love, but it seems that their former partner has already moved on and forgotten about them. The singer is unsure of what went wrong between them, but they acknowledge that there is no love left, and they yearn for their partner's warmth and presence.
Moving forward, the song emphasizes the singer's determination to move on from the failed relationship. They declare their refusal to experience any more love or betrayals, as they believe they can overcome the pain and not dwell on it for eternity. They acknowledge that their former partner has moved on and found someone else, but despite having been with multiple people, the singer still cannot forget or get over their former partner. The song concludes with a plea for their partner's return, even though they understand that it is unlikely to happen.
Overall, "Amore" delves into the emotional aftermath of a failed relationship, showcasing the singer's struggle to let go and move forward, while acknowledging the fleeting nature of love and the impact of betrayal.

Ya no quiero amores, ya no mas traiciones
I don't want love anymore, no more betrayals

If you already left from here, there's no way I'll cry
Because I know very well that I will overcome you
After a few months, I won't even remember you
Because there is no love disaster that lasts for eternity
That's why don't come back into my life
Por que yo para ti ya no voy a estar
Because I won't be there for you anymore
Por que tu a mi vida ya no vas a regresar
Because you won't return to my life
Tu ya tienes a alguien mas y me vas a superar
You already have someone else and you will overcome me
I already have like three, and I can't forget you
Seriously, I don't know what will happen
And if at some point the suffering will end
