Didn't he produce this improvisation on Dec. 8 (the Feast of the Immaculate Conception) 1921? That would be almost a century to the day from this coming Sunday. Let it surge forth from organ lofts far and wide!

It is curious to observe that in 1920, Paul de Maleingreau of the Brussels Conservatory composed a work similar not only in title but in scope, style, technical challenge, and use of Gregorian chants: Symphonie de la Passion. But it was not published until 1923 or 24. So we must wonder whether Dupre was aware of this work when producing his own. The fact that both men were pioneers in performing the complete organ works of Bach suggests that they might have been in touch with each other.
