I was fortunate enough to have seen this twice. Once in previews and then the final performance. I still think it has a great score and calling out for a great director to tackle the staging issues.

Thank you for finding this rare musical. Now if only we can find footage from Into The Light, Wind In The Willows, Dance A Little Closer, Shogun the musical, Nick and Nora, Smile, Starmites, and Little Prince And The Aviator. For some strange reason I like analyzing why a broadway show failed as opposed to one that was successful. It’s like being a detective. You hear about all these stories as to how a show came to be only for it to bomb before it had a chance.

The video for Dance A LIttle Closer used to be on youtube under the heading DALC. I can't find it now. I hope someone else knows where it has gone.

i got to watch my boyfriend’s musical last night and his school did rags (we go to different schools) it was the most amazing musical i had ever seen and now i’m obsessed

So interesting to watch this - I think the book works fine and the cast is tops. But the sets are ridiculous (what sets?) and how do you have nothing going on during Brand New World and Blame It on the Summer Night - both numbers cry out for showing and not telling. What lost opportunities. I really don't like any of the revisions to the show - I think the creative team failed what should have been a big hit show.

Since this has the trio version of Children of the Wind (changed in Boston to a solo for Stratas) this is clearly from Boston. I am pretty sure it's the first preview in Boston.
