Learning piano from age 11, Clementine left school at 16 after failing most of his examinations. Following this, he had a dispute with his family and ended up in Camden Town, London, homeless and in psychological and financial difficulties. He relocated to Paris at age 19, where he spent a number of years busking and playing in bars and hotels in Place de Clichy while sleeping on the streets. Discovered busking in the Paris Métro, he was signed to Matthieu Gazier and Lionel Bensemoun's label Behind.
Clementine's first EP, Cornerstone, was released in June 2013 with three studio tracks. It was re-issued in October 2013 with three additional acoustic tracks.
His debut album, "At Least for Now", was released across Europe in January 2015. The album won the 2015 Mercury Music Prize.
His second album, "I Tell a Fly", was released in 2017.
"And I Have Been" is Clementine's third studio album, announced on 30 August 2022, and released on 28 October 2022.

Eternity
Benjamin Clementine Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
What lands to till or sow with seed
The land is brief and weed
Nor cares for falling tears or rain
You know it all, I sit and wait
With bundled arms and hands that fail
'Til the last lifting off the veil
You know it all, I cannot see
I trust I shall not live in vain
I know that we shall meet again
In some divine eternity
I know that we shall meet again
In some divine eternity
I know that we shall meet again
In some divine eternity
The lyrics of Benjamin Clementine's song, Eternity, touch upon the theme of seeking knowledge and purpose in life. The first verse describes the singer's struggle to identify what fields to till and what seeds to sow, indicating that they are searching for direction. The use of the phrase "the land is brief and weed" could suggest that life is short and the world is filled with distractions that make it hard to focus on the things that truly matter. The final line of the verse, "Nor cares for falling tears or rain," could imply that nature is indifferent to the singer's struggles.
In the second verse, the singer is depicted as waiting with "bundled arms and hands that fail" for something to happen. The phrase "the last lifting off the veil" could symbolize a breakthrough, suggesting that the singer is waiting for clarity to see their path in life. The idea of the "first openin' of the gate" could signify a new beginning or a path to a new destination.
The final verse of Eternity is filled with hope and faith. The singer acknowledges that they cannot see the future, but they trust that their life will not be in vain. The idea of meeting again in some divine eternity indicates the belief that there is life beyond death, and that the path being pursued is ultimately leading to a higher purpose.
Overall, the lyrics of Eternity seem to convey the idea that life is about the search for meaning and purpose, and that even in moments of doubt and uncertainty, we need to hold onto faith and hope that our journey has a greater significance.

Sai tutto, cerco invano
Cosa coltivare o seminare
La terra è breve ed erbaccia
Né si preoccupa delle lacrime che cadono o della pioggia
Sai tutto, mi siedo e aspetto
Con braccia e mani impacchettate che falliscono
Fino all'ultimo sollevamento del velo
E la prima apertura del cancello
Sai tutto, non riesco a vedere
Confido che non vivrò invano
So che ci incontreremo di nuovo
In una qualche divina eternità
So che ci incontreremo di nuovo
In una qualche divina eternità
So che ci incontreremo di nuovo
In una divina eternità...

It was an unbelievable shock to randomly see you in Dune... I almost couldn't trust my eyes, but still I knew it was you immediately. Had no idea you were interested in acting and Dune sure is a big one... so when I checked out your IMDb and saw it was your first acting role, I was incredibly happy for you! More roles to come I hope!
