Bang Bang
Berserkr Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

All my neighbors are in the street
Waving their fists and stomping their feet
Niggers just hit this side of town
My property values just went down

Ref.: BANG, BANG - WATCH 'EM DIE
WATCH THOSE NIGGERS DROP LIKE FLIES (x2)
BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG...

This melting pot has just boiled over!
But who the fuck is staying sober?

I'm second class because I'm white
My gun makes me 1st class tonight!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Berserkr's song Bang Bang have been widely criticized for their racist and violent content. In the first verse, the singer is observing his neighbors react to an incoming group of black people, whom he identifies as "niggers." He expresses his resentment towards them, suggesting that their mere presence in the neighborhood has reduced the value of his property. In the chorus, he repeatedly encourages the use of violence against the black people, exclaiming "WATCH 'EM DIE, WATCH THOSE NIGGERS DROP LIKE FLIES."

The second verse reveals a deep-seated feeling of superiority and entitlement that comes with being white in a multi-ethnic society. The singer feels like a second-class citizen and believes that owning a gun gives him a sense of elevated status, hence making him "1st class tonight." The lyrics use derogatory slurs and promote hateful and violent behavior towards others, making it a controversial and polarizing song.

I'm pretty sure Chuk isn't the singer on this album. He sang on the first album but this one had a different singer. This guy's name was John Tinsley (1970-2015) and he's dead now. :(
