Thank you so much for this. I feel like smiling, laughing, and crying at the exact same time. This is my life. It's so completely my life. The highs and lows don't come one at a time, am I only acting, where do I fit in... all of it. The lyrics were just so simplistically poignant and on point.

Perfect! ^_^ It' so beautiful, I love how the music itself is upbeat while the lyrics are full of confusion and pain, because it's so real. As someone who suffers with both depression and anxiety, this speaks to me. Life is full of both, often simultaneously. Love all your songs, Beth! Why did this song hit so hard for me? I'm pretty sure I don't have what the song is aimed for, but I've got ADHD and the line "Man it's so much effort to be normal"really hit hard for me cause I'm constantly pretending to not have adhd because everyone likes that more.

I have never related to a song more. I know that you struggle with mental health, but you are not alone! You’re an amazing person and I am grateful to your songs that have gotten me though so much. This song is so relatable and in your precious video you said that people can’t tell you’re depressed. I have the same thing. There is always so much going on that others don’t realize. The name fits it so perfectly. The feelings and mindset that this portrays is one that is hard to get people to understand. Thank you. This is something I do every day I take meds every morning for it, and I smile. I tell everyone that asks me how my day is " any day I wake up is a good day " with a smile. All on the inside breaking apart and screaming only stopped by the meds and my shear will. That is why I can smile and be happy even while those feelings are still there trying to take control. this song shows just that. I'm sure people that don't fight with this daily can understand. So, Thank You.

This is so lovely. I firmly believe that our purpose as sufferers of chronic illness is to find meaning in sharing our suffering so that others can find meaning in theirs.

Happiness only exists in this life for fleeting moments, with and without medication. Things are other than they ought to be here. Some of us feel that fact more acutely than others. Mental illness is real and requires medical treatment just like any other illness. But not all sadness is an illness. Sometimes, it's a reasonable response to reality and the expectation of happiness is unreasonable.
