He can be identified by his rapid delivery and intricate rhymes, a style which has become more distinct since the album ATLiens.
In addition to his OutKast and Dungeon Family work, Big Boi has featured in other artists' songs. His most notable guest appearances were on the 1999 Missy Elliott hit, "All N My Grill," the Youngbloodz' "85 South," and Trick Daddy's 2001 single "In Da Wind."
After four increasingly successful albums as a duo since 1991, André 3000 decided to make a solo album as a side project. Big Boi also produced a solo effort, and the two albums were packaged together as Speakerboxxx/The Love Below in 2003. Big Boi's single from the album, The Way You Move featuring Sleepy Brown, was originally supported by urban radio then crossed over to pop charts. When "The Way You Move" supplanted Hey Ya! as the #1 song on the US pop charts, OutKast achieved the rare honor of a group replacing itself at the top of the charts. The second single from Big Boi's side of the album was Ghetto Musick, which featured André 3000 and a sample from Patti LaBelle's Love, Need & Want You.
Def Jam Records has announced "Sir Lucious Left Foot: the Son of Chico Dusty," a Big Boi solo effort will be released in the summer of 2010.
He released a mixtape/compilation album, "Got Purp? Vol 2," in conjunction with the Purple Ribbon All-Stars in November 2005 on Purple Ribbon Records. The first single from the album was "Kryptonite", which cracked the Billboard Hot 100 and was a hit on hip hop radio.
Big Boi is married to Sherlita Patton, with whom he has two children: a daughter, Jordan, and a son , Bamboo. His oldest son, Antwan Jr., is from a prior relationship. Numerous references to the Patton family are present in Big Boi's rhymes.
His younger brother James raps under the name Lil' Brotha, and is a member of hip hop group Konkrete.
Big Boi and André 3000 star in "Idlewild," a film about music in the Depression-era South. It was released in August 2006.
Big Boi also appeared in season 3 of Nick Cannon's "Wildin' Out," as well as guest starring and appearing as a musical guest on "Chappelle's Show." Besides "Idlewild" he has appeared in T.I.'s movie, "ATL," and starred in "Who's Your Caddy?"
Tremendous Damage
Big Boi Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The weight of everything is tearing up my sober
Shit is heavy like the world on my shoulder
People telling me be strong like a soldier
But I suffer tremendous damage
Just make it fade away
Just let it fade away
Just make it fade away
So many things that I didn't know
But still I've seen my dreams come true
And now the little kids are watching my videos
And telling me "I wanna be you"
See, I'm just a man so I ain't scared to fall down
No matter what ever I go through
I told the man in the mirror keep pushing on
But I can't say the same about you
Nah nah, nah, I done made it this far
And ain't no way I'm gonna turn back
I started out with no car
And graduated to a Cadillac
But all that money don't mean a got damn thing to me
Cause we don't worship that
But like the Wright brothers, you gotta crash and burn
Before you take flight, I know ya heard that
Sometimes I wonder how I get over
The weight of everything is tearing up my sober
Shit is heavy like the world on my shoulder
People telling me be strong like a soldier
But I suffer tremendous damage
Just make it fade away
Just let it fade away
Just make it fade away
I suffer tremendous damage
February 28th, the day my daddy died
Well, not really, his energy passed to the other side
And ever since that day I've seen him fade away with my own eyes
I never doubted God, the Marine corps they say semper fi
My daddy fought in Vietnam
This is a fun fact for the bloodline of Antwan Andre
Just like this song say
I've suffered tremendous damage, got me tougher than a motherfucker
And since the days of Player's Ball
Y'all thought it was about all these broads and slamming Cadillac doors
Now your American idol is just a fraud
You kiss a man he's still gonna be a frog (ribbit)
A bitter old negro not at all
See, I look 26 and still hit your broad
Still pitch a ball, hike, pass, shoot, kick and all
Practice make perfect and first it was Bamboo now it's Cross
Sometimes I wonder how I get over
The weight of everything is tearing up my sober
Shit is heavy like the world on my shoulder
People telling me be strong like a soldier
But I suffer tremendous damage
Just make it fade away
Just let it fade away
Just make it fade away
I suffer tremendous damage
The lyrics to Big Boi's song Tremendous Damage explore the challenges that the artist has faced and the toll that they have taken on his psyche, as well as reflecting on the ways in which he has overcome these struggles. The first verse speaks to the overwhelming feeling of being weighed down by life's difficulties, likening it to the weight of the world on his shoulders, and the pressure to be strong like a soldier. These feelings have led to the titular tremendous damage, which the artist wishes would fade away.
The second verse touches on the idea that there are some things in life that we can never fully prepare for or understand, as well as acknowledging the successes that Big Boi has achieved despite those obstacles. However, he also recognizes the importance of being able to fall down and get back up again, and the value of perseverance in the face of adversity. The final verse reflects on Big Boi's personal loss and connection to the military, as well as his resolve to keep pushing forward, despite the damage that he has suffered.
Overall, Tremendous Damage is a powerful song about resilience, coping with life's challenges, and finding strength in the face of adversity.

Supreme Being G.O.D
why is 7God, perfect and/or greater?
I always remember hearing that 7 was the perfect number. A few days ago I decided to google that to see what i'd get. Much to my dismay, the only references to 7 being a perfect number were religious and not based in the science of mathematics. Actually I realized something 1st before googling it to seee what the search engine would say. This is what i found for myself, some mathematical evidence to why 7 is God in the Supreme Mathematics and perfect or great in general.
When we look at the c/f (cipher) of mathematics fully, meaning 123456789 and 0. We see that due to the integral positioning of 7 it has the ability to turn the tide either way in the past or in the future (to the right or left).
1+2+3+4+5+6=21 and 8+9=17, now if we add seven to either side of the cipher it becomes greater than the other. 1 to 6 with 7 becomes 28 which is greater than 17 or 8 to 9. While 8 to 9 or 17 with 7 added to it becomes 24, which is greater than 1 to 6 or 21.
Alright that was mathematically, now let's view from a religious perspective. The number of God and the heavens is 7, the number of the devil and hell is 6. So literally for the devil to rule the entire c/f with what it carries within it 12345 and itself 6, the 7 or God must be completely taken out the picture and then 21 [ which by the way is backwards, acting before thinking] can reign as the greatest.
I also performed an experiment after noticing the integral position of the 7 and it's effects on the nummbers before and after it. My hypothesis was that ,"the c/f [cipher] is greater with 7 in it.To show and prove this hypothesis as true I found all the occasions where 7 naturally occurs within the different combos found in the c/f and weighed them out. Some examples would be 3 to7=25 (meaning 3+4+5+6+7=25) or 6 to 9 =30 and 4 to 7=22. Anyway I found that out of the 36 combinations 7 naturally occurred 20 times ( meaning an actual 7 not one gained by adding 1 and 6, or 2 and 5, or 3 and 4). From putting those 20 occasions on the scale i found out that my hypothesis was mostly true ,3 times out of 4 [that is only 5 out of 20 was it untrue].
It took me a while to c [see] but these 5 ocurences where 7 naturally occurred, but the group it occurred in was not greater than the rest of the c/f [what came before or after it]. They were all located within the 4 to 8=30 [what i like to understand as the theme for this addition table and all mathematics as a whole: facts and exacts the defined and/or definite theory]
The 5 mini ciphers are the 6 to 7 which equals 13, 7 to 8=15, then the 6 to 8=21 [ which houses the previous two], 5 to 7=18 and finally the 4 to 7=22. What are the implication of the first 2 being within the third and all five being within the 4 to 8=30 [4+5+6+7+8=30]? I'm still pondering and digesting this info that has recently been highlighted in my peripheral.
In conclusion I'd like to thank u for being patient and reading these words and hope u will feel inspired to spread the word. Mathematics is the universal language, 1+1 is 2 in China, USA, Belize and Liberia...peace word60.

Classic Big Boi/Outkast track.
Real music, played by actual musicians with... instruments MIXED with synths. On-topic lyrics with a message. Southern twang, and a small shout out to us (Texas) with the slowed and chopped cycle at the end. This is why Kast can make music til they die. They can evolve but it's always dependable.
Don't Lift With Your Back
I feel like this whole album didn’t get the credit it deserved...a masterful body of work

This album cemented Bad Boi as the legend he truly is. How can he sound so underground and interplanetary at the same time.

As I remember it was voted as a top 10 record cross over the genres then. But that happened far away form mainstream in a german radio station.
All of Big Bois solo records are the best examples how rap and pop work side by side but still are cool as fuck. Love all of them
