This Jacksonville four-piece is in demand everywhere they go, “We often have to turn down shows because we’re booked, sometimes we’re playing two shows a day.” says founding singer/ guitarist Tony Mikus. The band’s surging popularity comes from the buzz on their amazing live show, where the band whips the audience into a wild frenzy, laying down well-known hits like “That Girl’s a Freak” to “Wasted” and their anthematic theme song, “Party Like a Rock Star”
While reigning over the Florida club scene and playing all over the Southeast, these road warriors maintain a rabid cult following with bikers and gear heads alike from their many appearances at rallies like Sturgis and NASCAR and NHRA events all over the country. When they’re not headlining they are the go-to guys for arena acts like Buckcherry, Drowning Pool, Motorhead, Bret Michaels, Vince Neil, Charlie Daniels, 38 Special, Ted Nugent, Shooter Jennings and many, many more.
In between touring, the band has released two albums, 2009’s “Rock n’ Roll Machine” and the recently released “That Girl”. Demand was so high on the road, where both albums are well north of 30,000, that these CDs are now available digitally as well as at retail.
Now, with more offers than they can handle, Big Engine is aiming to bring their hits to even bigger audiences. If there’s a big crowd having a big party, chances are you’ll hear Big Engine.

Come Home
Big Engine Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You thought you had it made
When you were standing in my shade
But something had to give
And something had to change
And its as crazy as it seems
When you go it on your own
But don't afraid
To come home
Well you live and you learn
And its always such a shame
There's just some things you can't explain
So you try to forgive
And you cover up the pain
There's only so much you can take
You might say its alright
And you enjoy the sunlight
And Its a blessing on your soul
Its the choices we don't make
And the paths that we don't take
That can lead us to being alone
But don't be afraid
To come home
No don't be afraid
To come home
In the song "Come Home" by Big Engine, the lyrics tell the story of someone who once thought they had everything figured out, until something happened and they were forced to take a new path. The singer urges this person not to be afraid to come back home, where they will find love, support and forgiveness. The lyrics suggest that life is unpredictable, and we can never truly know what the future holds, but we can always count on the people who love us to be there for us when we need them.
The line "You thought you knew it all, you thought you had it made when you were standing in my shade" implies that the person the song is directed towards may have had a sense of superiority or entitlement, and may have taken others for granted. However, the events that have transpired have led this person to reconsider their outlook on life, and they have been humbled by their experiences. The singer acknowledges that it can be difficult to face the world alone, but reminds the listener that they don't have to, and that they have a place where they will always be welcome.
The theme of the song focuses on the importance of family and home, and how we should never be too proud or too afraid to return to our roots. The lyrics encourage us to be forgiving and compassionate towards others, and to remember that life is filled with twists and turns that we can't always control. The message is one of hope and reassurance, that no matter where life takes us, we can always find comfort and support in the people who love us.
