Save My Life
Bike Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Up and down there seems to be a day of reason
Wrap me round your little finger, this time I don′t mind
Wander round theres gonna be, a brand new season
After all we've been through,

Don′t you try to save my life, I'm already dead
So let it go this time...
Say your peace then close the door, don't stand there crying
Can′t you break it aint the badness, always living lie
Round and round theres gonna be, a brand new season
After all we′ve been through,

Don't you try to save my life, I′m already dead
So let it go this time...

Don't you try to save my life, I′m already dead
So let it go this time...
Yeah let it go this time
Yeah let it go this time

Up and down there seems to be a day of reason
Wrap me round your little finger, this time I don't mind
Don′t you try to save my life, I'm already dead
Don't you try to save my life, I′m already dead
Don′t you try to save my life, I'm already dead
Don′t you try to save my life, I'm already dead
Don′t you try to save my life, I'm already dead
Don′t you try to save my life, I'm already dead

Don't you try to save my life, I′m already dead
Don′t you try to save my life, I'm already dead

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of BIKE's Save My Life evoke feelings of resignation and acceptance of one's own mortality. The repetition of the line "Don't you try to save my life, I'm already dead" conveys a sense of finality and a refusal to fight against the inevitable. The first verse suggests that there may be a glimmer of hope, with the prospect of a new season and a fresh start. However, the refrain reminds us that it is too late for any kind of rescue or redemption.

The second verse seems to address a specific person who may have played a role in the singer's demise. There is a sense of anger and frustration with this individual, perhaps for perpetuating a lie or generally being insincere. Despite this, the singer seems to have come to terms with the situation and is ready to move on.

Overall, the lyrics of Save My Life are quite poignant and reflective. The repetition of certain phrases adds to the sense of finality and reinforces the idea that there is no going back. It is a song about accepting one's fate, no matter how grim it may be.

Damn, we lost a good musician today, always loved his bands, always will

Andrew was a musical/songwriting genius (and I'm not fond of melodrama) or using the "G" word. We really did lose a gem -and I'm very sad for Andrew -his family, friends/bandmates-and his fans -of which I will always be one. RIP Andrew you beautiful soul.

When I first heard 'Such A Daze' by Straightjacket Fits, I was blown away. But then I realised that much of the other stuff isn't half as good. That's when I found out that all the great songs in the Fits were composed by Andrew. And only after that I found out about Bike. It was a revelation and I still listen to this music today. Amazing composer, artist, arranger.
