He first started touring in 1984 with other comedians such as Mark Lamarr and Toby Longworth. His live shows are a mixture of stand-up and original comic songs. He has four albums (two studio, two live) and four live DVDs.

He plays Manny Bianco in the sitcom "Black Books" and was a permanent fixture of "Never Mind the Buzzcocks" on the BBC for 11 series' until October 2008. He had a supporting role in Spaced as Bilbo Bagshot the comic book store owner as well as appearing in the 2011 Christmas special of Doctor Who. Bill has done 6 live tours so far: Cosmic Jam, Bewilderness, Part Troll, Tinselworm, Dandelion Mind and Qualmpeddler.

Tinselworm was recorded onto CDs at each individual show and sold to the audience at the end of the show, it is believed that this is the first time it has been done on a Comedy Tour.

Coincidentally, I recently rewatched The Man With The Golden Gun, which includes the film's theme tune in-story in a Wild West piano style, so I've been thinking about this kind of fuzzy boundary between theme tune/score and music that's meant to be within the created world. @@mjlim6610 Not for a long time. Some kids do one language, some do another. So one of my kids did all Spanish, the other did all German, because they were different ages. Made sense when we were in the EU I guess, but now they'll probably move back to everyone doing the same language, which most likely will be French. Again.

Maybe, maybe not, I did French and German at school and Spanish wasn’t offered, but some of my friends who went to well nice schools only did Spanish

@@mjlim6610 yeah but learning french from school is like shoving a building-sized square into an ant-size hole. i did 5 years of french and only know the basics of the basics, nothing even anything close to understanding more than 30% of the words in a given sentence. Je ne pense pas la francais etait bien.
