The group's name was taken from the Filipino word binibini which means "young lady", a nod to the group's vision to "embody the idea of a modern Filipina — sweet, fierce, independent, and informed".

On November 20, 2020, they release their pre-debut single "Da Coconut Nut".
On June 4, 2021, the group officially debuted with the single "Born to Win".
On September 10, 2021, the group released their second single (second comeback) "Kapit Lang".
