My Favorite Things
Björk Lyrics
Jump to: Line by Line Meaning ↴
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with string
These are a few of my favourite things
Doorbells and sleighbells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favourite things
Girls in white Dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver White winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favourite things
When the bee stings
When the dog bites
When I'm feeling bad
I simply remember my favourite things
And then I don't feel so sad
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
I find joy in the simple and natural beauties of life, like raindrops falling on roses and the soft whiskers of playful kittens.

I love that this scene has fixed camera angles, exactly like in her musical fantasy (the only scenes in the movie with steady cams), suggesting that she's halfway to her fantasy world thanks to the music.
Jacqueline Hopkins
No wonder she won the Palme d'Or (French Oscar) for best actress. Bravo!
Timothée Schaller

This movie totally broke my heart years ago and I still wouldn't be able to watch it again even thought music was great.

A musical with a different slant, I was greatly moved by this film, Dancer in the dark, I have seen nothing like it before or after, amazing production, from its shaky hand cam start to its crystal clear Hollywood finish
The closest film to this I have seen is a film called leviathan
In this film you are also left with nothing after being ripped to peices
Brilliant and dark
