In August 1985 the band got their biggest chart success, with the song "Frankreich, Frankreich" (France, France) landing in at number 9 in the German charts.
In their 3+ decades together, the Bläck Fööss have only had a few change in personnel. They have had Willy Schnitzler on keyboard and Rolf Lammers. In 1994 the band had its biggest split, with frontman Tommy Engel leaving the band for a solo career after so-called creative differences.

Un dun dich jet bewäje
Dun de Bein us de Fott
(Dun de Bein us de Fott)
Un de Sorje ussem Kopp

Kumm loss de Hacke fleeje
Un dun dich jet bewäje wenn de danze kanns
Let's dance, let's dance, let's danz!
Dinge Pool un di Päd riess kein Frau an de Äd
Domet han die Schöss nix am Hoot
Do häs Jeld un e Huus
Un bes trotzdem en Muus
Wat d'r fählt, es Peffer em Bloot
Wenn de Musik dich hibbelich mät
Un de Fott en Bewäjung jeröt
Dann bes do eetste Wahl
Ob de klein oder schmal
Wenn de danze kanns, es dat ejal
Kumm loss de Hacke fleeje

Do häs Stress wie beklopp, nur Sorje em Kopp
Jeden Dach steit jet andres om Spill
Do schlöcks alles eraf
Un dann bes de jeschaff
Wat d'r fählt, es e richtich Ventill
Loss dich drieve, un bes nit bedröv
Loss dich jon, wenn de Musik dich röf

Let's dance, let's dance, let's danz!
The lyrics of Bläck Fööss's song "Let's Dance" express the joy and freedom of dancing and moving to the music, emphasizing the importance of letting go and enjoying oneself.
The first verse encourages the listener to let loose, fly and move, not only physically but also emotionally by letting go of worries and troubles. It addresses a specific person, Pitter and Franz, emphasizing that regardless of who you are, if you can dance, come and join the celebration.
The second verse talks about material possessions and how they don't matter when compared to the excitement and energy that music brings. It suggests that when the music makes you restless and your feet start to move, you become the main attraction, regardless of your size or appearance.
The third verse acknowledges the stress and worries that come with everyday life but suggests that dancing can be a great outlet. It encourages the listener to release their worries, let themselves go, and let the music take control. It's a call to forget about troubles and just embrace the joy of dancing.
The final verse describes the physical movements of dancing, emphasizing the energy and enthusiasm one feels. It suggests that dancing starts from the back of the neck and continues throughout the body, making the feet move and eventually leading to a sense of freedom and joy. It concludes by inviting Pitter and Franz, again representing anyone, to join in and dance together.
Overall, the lyrics of "Let's Dance" celebrate the liberating power of dance, urging listeners to let go of their worries and embrace the joy that comes with moving to the rhythm of the music. It emphasizes a sense of inclusivity, inviting everyone, regardless of their background or appearance, to come together and enjoy the dance.
