Black had two top-ten hits in the UK in 1987: 'Sweetest Smile' and 'Wonderful Life'. The album of this name reached no. 3 in the UK album chart, but following albums and singles did not enjoy similar commercial success. He was able to continue recording music, releasing 14 albums over the course of his life. His latest, ‘Blind Faith’, was released in 2015.

The lyrics to Black's song "El Serrucho" are a celebration of dancing, drinking, and sexual innuendo. The repeated phrase "se prendió la fiesta" (the party's lit) sets the tone for a wild night, with Black proclaiming that he is going to drink and dance until morning. The line "traigan la maizena" (bring the cornstarch) is a reference to the Colombian tradition of throwing cornstarch at parties, and Black declares that he is going to give his all on the dance floor with a series of "serrucho" chants.
The second half of the song focuses on a sexual encounter, as Black sings about "Maria moñito" and her broken bed. He declares himself to be "el que la clava" (the one who nails it) and repeats the phrase "clava" throughout the song. The carpentry metaphor implies a sense of mastery and virility, with Black positioning himself as a skilled lover who can fix what's broken. The chorus continues with the "serrucho" chants, building to a fever pitch as Black shouts out the names of fellow artists and declares that "esto se prendió" (this is lit).
Overall, "El Serrucho" is a high-energy party anthem that blends dance, music, and sexuality into an explosive mix. It celebrates the joy of dancing and the thrill of sexual satisfaction, all with a lively and infectious rhythm that invites listeners to let loose and join the party.
