Is it too late to change
I think I'd like to
Try to change my ways now
But when the facts are in the game
Just isn't kind alright
As our instincts take shape
It clouds our judgment
And makes the wrong road feel safe
But when the facts are in the game
Just isn't kind alright
Can you answer now?
Can you answer now?
I wish you'd try
Can you answer now?
Can you answer now?
I wish you'd try
I think I like you
Is it too late to change
I think I'd like to
Try to change my ways now
But when the facts are in the game
Just isn't kind alright
Can you answer now?
Can you answer now?
I wish you'd try
The lyrics to Black Tie Dynasty's song "I Like U" seem to be exploring the author's feelings towards someone they are interested in. The first two lines indicate a questioning of whether it is too late to change, which suggests that the author has been stuck in some sort of pattern or habit that they feel is preventing them from pursuing the object of their affection. They then say that they would like to try to change their ways now, but they acknowledge the difficulty of the situation when they say "but when the facts are in the game just isn't kind alright." This seems to suggest that there may be some obstacle in the way of the relationship, perhaps something that the author thinks is insurmountable.
The next few lines seem to explore the idea that our primal instincts can cloud our judgment and make us take the wrong path to safety. This could refer to the author's own instincts that may have led them in a direction that does not allow them to pursue the person they like. The repetition of the line "can you answer now?" suggests that the author is seeking some sort of clarity or response from the object of their affection. The final lines repeat the opening lines again, indicating that the author is still grappling with the same questions and issues regarding the relationship.
Overall, the lyrics seem to be about the inherent difficulties of pursuing a relationship and the obstacles that can stand in the way, such as our own habits and instincts, as well as external factors.
