Blacklite District is originally from the Black Hills of South Dakota, and was founded by guitarist Kyle Pfeiffer, and vocalist Roman James. After years of writing songs and playing live in the Black Hills area, Kyle and Roman were discovered by Grammy Award-winning producer, Stephen Short in early 2011. This brought upon two new members to bring into the equation, bassist Chauncey “CK” Köchel, and session drummer Matt O'Rourke. CK and Matt began rehearsing with the band in the weeks leading up to entering the world’s largest residential recording studio, Sonic Ranch. With producer Stephen Short and engineer Charles Godfrey on board, Blacklite District recorded their 7-track debut album, “This is Where it Ends”, in the summer of 2011.
Following the completion of the album, the band relocated to Los Angeles, and has accomplished a lot in a short period of time. On September 30, the group's first single, "I'm Stil Right Here", debuted at Active Rock Radio in 5 states in the Midwest on X-ROCK 101.1 (KDDX), where it eventually hit the Top 20. On October 28, BLD debuted live at the World Famous Whisky A Go-Go on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, CA. On 11-11-11, "This is Where it Ends" went on sale to digital retailers and has so far gotten rave reviews.
With a debut album out worldwide, a hit single at radio, and up-coming tour dates, it’s sure to say that this band strives for success. “We look forward to touring and getting our music out there,” says singer Roman James. “We know people are going to dig what they hear, especially if they’re tired of all the generic sounding music being released in todays 'sub-par' music industry.” Blacklite District combines heaviness with catchiness and has a distinct sound that separates them from other bands.
In early 2012, the band began a monumental promotion campaign in support of "This is Where it Ends", which will continue through out the year. The band's second single, "Left Behind", will be released to radio in new markets.
In the fall of 2012, BLD relocated from Hollywood, CA to Orlando, FL after signing a new management deal with famed Creed and Paramore manager Jeff Hanson, and will release a new album in late 2012 on Silent Majority Group/Warner Music Group.

And this money and fame ain't gonna earn itself
I'm not wasting my time, you better recognize
The flame, the hustle, the pain, the redness in my eyes
When the pressure comes down you throw the towel in
But for me and my crew, that's where the work begins
At the end of the day we like to cut it loose
By the end of the night we're making bodies move
We're waiting, we're waiting, we're waiting
I'm ready for the bright lights, high life, every bodies feelin' right
Live it up, keep it poppin' all night
We're ready for the throw down, showdown, never fuckin' slow down
Live it up, tonight it's gonna go down
You know we need it loud
Shout if you're with me now
I could be going off without any warning
From 6PM to at least 6 in the morning
When the sun comes out, we keep it going
Looks like a 2 day bout, that's what we're throwing
We're rollin' out, what's up with you
You know the place we're going to
We're doing shots at breakfast time
We smoke 2 joints and cut-in-line
We're waiting, we're waiting, we're waiting
I'm ready for the bright lights, high life, every bodies feelin' right
Live it up, keep it poppin' all night
We're ready for the throw down, showdown, never fuckin' slow down
Live it up, tonight it's gonna go down
You know we need it loud
Shout if you're with me now
If you're with me now
You need it, I bleed it
Just take it if you want it
Don't waste it, just taste it now
I'm ready for the bright lights, high life, every bodies feelin' right
Live it up, keep it poppin' all night
We're ready for the throw down, showdown, never fuckin' slow down
Live it up, tonight it's gonna go down
You know we need it loud
Shout if you're with me now
You know we need it loud
Shout if you're with me now
The lyrics to Blacklite District's song "With Me Now" speak of a life dedicated to hard work and the pursuit of success. The singer puts their game on the shelf, knowing that money and fame won't just come to them without putting in the effort. They acknowledge the pain and pressure that comes with this lifestyle but are not deterred by it. The chorus serves as an invitation to the listener to join them in their pursuit of a high life, ready to party and keep things going all night long.
Throughout the song, there is a sense of urgency and passion, as if the singer and their crew know that their time is limited and they must make the most of it while they can. They speak of rolling out to a destination known only to them, where they will do shots at breakfast time and smoke joints. The song has a rebellious and carefree attitude that speaks to a younger generation looking for an escape from the mundane.
Overall, "With Me Now" is a celebration of living in the moment and not wasting any opportunities that come your way. It encourages listeners to let go of their inhibitions and embrace the high life, even if just for one night.

ATTENTION: I wish this version was still on Spotify too! But it’s beyond my control. This song and album has caused multiple lawsuits and I have recently got the rights to the music back.. it wont be this exact version, but last month I went in the studio with the original producer, drummer, band and co-writers and we created a new version that actually SLAYS this one.
And by the way, the 2020 version was recorded while I was in active drug addiction. I don’t like it either!
