Dollaz & Sense
Blakroc Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Jea, Ja
Zip, Zag, Zig, Zing, uh
Zoom, Zag, Zig, uh
Uh, yeah, this is very scary
This is, this is, this is not the very ordinary

Like Tony Starks man we throw your ass in the Cobra Clutch
Your man watch as your whole head opens up
Sober up, niggy, it's the Bob Digi
We throw darts in the air that float like a frisbee
My neck is frostbitten, glass wouldn't teach me
Love my wares but y'all thug niggas miss me
I'm bionic, my chronic draw the Digi-juice
My fist stacks is bruce you better call the jukes
No excuse the black man must stand up
Time to make the Wu sign throw both of y'all hands up
You see me in a Maserati GranTurismo
Up in the club my beat got more sub than Quizno
Mama that's the business I'ma a get this
Give me ten digits
Fuck that before I quit this
Walk in the prise of a purse
If it don't make it dollas, nigga, then it don't make sense

If it don't make dollas, then it don't make sense
If it don't make dollas, then it don't make sense
No, no, it don't make sense

Shake it out one time

March in here everywhere

I see dead people when I spit with my sixth sense
My sixteens are sick sentences that make sense
Which means they inflict pain that's intense
I got brains backstage I been rhymin' sick since
Sing a song of sixpence
Pockets full of rhyme
The road is I'm known 'til I die
Torches, switchblades, and pockmarked sky
My shades is black my boots is fly
Rock 'n' roll I lose control
Fuck the white ones, The Black Keys got so much soul
While you come off of the bench
If it don't make dollas then it don't make sense
If it don't make dollas then it don't make sense
Dog, If it don't make dollas then it don't make sense
Dog, It needs to make sense
If it don't make dollas then it don't make sense

If it don't make dollas then it don't make sense
If it don't make dollas then it don't make sense
No, no, it don't make sense
If it don't make dollas then it don't make sense

If it don't make dollas mama don' t make no sense
Yeah

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Dollaz & Sense" by Blakroc are about the importance of money and financial success. The song opens with a series of onomatopoeic sounds that create a sense of urgency and unpredictability, setting the tone for the rest of the song. The reference to Tony Starks (Iron Man) tossing someone into the Cobra Clutch suggests that the singer is powerful and capable of inflicting harm on others.

The singer boasts about their abilities and success, referencing their Maserati GranTurismo and the fact that their beats have more sub than Quiznos, a popular sandwich chain. The repeated refrain of "If it don't make dollars, then it don't make sense" emphasizes the idea that financial gain is the ultimate goal and anything that does not contribute to that goal is not worth pursuing.

The second verse features a reference to the Sixth Sense, a film about a child who sees dead people. The singer claims to have a sixth sense when it comes to rap, with sick sentences that inflict pain. They also reference the Black Keys, a rock band who collaborated with Blakroc on the album.

Overall, "Dollaz & Sense" emphasizes the importance of financial success and highlights the singer's confidence and swagger.

Finally, a rap album with real instruments and no beat machine! Its a miracle!

@joegar317

Listening to The Black Keys music you'd never think they'd be badass hip-hop producers as well, mostly Pat Carney. And Dan Auerbach's voice, which perfectly suits their rock/blues fusion music, sounds great on the hip-hop hooks as well. Blackroc keep rollin!

@lcsm2505

The Black Keys and hip hop together? Is this paradise??

@brejanator

Love the nice blend of rock and hip hop on this track. It's like rock hop.

@trossamania

the RZA is a BOSS among bosses and pharoahe is just a master of the flow and a lyrical monster.... what a track.

@Armistace

The Rza produced all of Wu's albums, starting off with stolen equipment that he set up in his apartment. He made all of the beats, and payed for everything. It's an understatement to say that he "spent days in the studio".
