2) Blank is a danish rock band based in the region Jylland. Inspired by Beatles, HIM, The Calling, Sting, KingsX, Dandy Warhols, Dave Matthews, Nirvana and etc, They were founded in 1997 and with their two labeled albums "Aiming for the moon" and the latest "End of chapter" they have set the standard of catchy melodies and vocal harmonies.
3) Blank got their start playing all-ages punk shows in various basements and fire halls in the Annapolis, MD, area in 1992. The group had a very explosive raw sound that incorporated the sincerity and pop hooks of East Bay pop-punk bands Samiam and Jawbreaker with the edgier more disjointed sounds of their Washington D.C. neighbors Jawbox and Nation of Ulysses. Blank's songs were both chaotic and extremely catchy at the same time. It was as if their super-infectious melodies were just dying to break through the chaotic noise. The group started as a five-piece with Ryan Shelkett on vocals, the dual guitar attack of Kerry Silanskis and Noah Chace, Shannon Mitchell on bass, and John Welch on drums.
The group eventually made their way up to Baltimore's small yet fertile indie rock scene where they stood out as one of the few Baltimore underground bands to concentrate on a more melodic sound. During this period the group released its first full-length CD, The Tab Street Affair, on Vermin Scum and 2% Muscle Records. The group at the same time began to build up a small but loyal following throughout the Annapolis-D.C.-Baltimore region. 1996 saw Blank slim down to a four-piece, with Shelkett picking up second guitar duties and a new rhythm section featuring Tom Kerner on bass and Leroy Blades III on drums.
The new lineup combined with Shelkett's matured songwriting made for less noise and more melody, which gained the group an even wider audience. Blank then recorded The Race EP for the local Baltimore punk label Reptilian Records and toured the U.S. to support it. A year later the group toured again extensively throughout America. In 1997 they recorded Anywhere but Here, which would be their final album before calling it quits. Throughout the group's five-year career they appeared on several compilations and were extremely prolific in releasing singles for various independent labels.
After the group split, Shellkett went on to form the emo rock quartet Cross My Heart, who released three albums on New York independent label Deep Elm. ~ Rick Kutner, All Music Guide

Blank Lyrics

Still I keep them all inside me stored with all my hopes and fears
I can feel there's something deeper driving me so high
I can feel you breathing slowly if I close my eyes
And whatever I may think now I'm sure I'm on my knees
And why should I feel guilty because of all this...
I know it's hard
It probably shouldn't mean a thing
You're everything I see
You're everything I see
Watching you
Hearing you
I don't know what should I do
Watching you my heartbeat stops
Tell me please
Could life ever be sane again?
Feeling you
I'm waiting for you
And still I don't know why
But maybe I should
Feeling you
I'm waiting for you
The lyrics of Puressence by Blank convey a profound sense of introspection and emotional depth. The opening lines suggest that the singer carries a vast array of memories within them, spanning a significant span of time. These memories are not merely fleeting, but instead stored deep within their being, carrying both their hopes and fears.
The lyrics go on to describe a connection, a deeper driving force that elevates the singer. This connection is so powerful that they can feel the presence of another person, even when they close their eyes. It is almost as if this person's breath serves as a reminder of their existence, providing comfort and solace.
The singer expresses uncertainty about their thoughts and actions, yet they find themselves unable to resist the allure of this person. They confess that this individual has become their entire world, the focal point of their perception. The intensity of this connection is so strong that it seems to consume them entirely.
The chorus implies a sense of longing and anticipation. Watching and hearing the person they desire leaves them unsure of how to proceed. Their heartbeat seems to pause in the presence of this person, highlighting the profound effect they have on the singer. The lyrics express a desire for clarity, questioning whether life can ever regain its sanity in the face of such intense emotions.
In the final verse, the singer continues to wait, feeling the presence of this person and acknowledging that they don't fully understand why. They contemplate whether they should continue to embrace these feelings or perhaps seek a deeper understanding of their significance.
Overall, Puressence by Blank is a thought-provoking song that explores the complexities of deep emotional connections, capturing the overwhelming sensation of longing, uncertainty, and introspection that can arise in such encounters.
