Facing a plethora of legal fees, the siblings relented and changed the band name to Blondfire. They announced this decision to coincide with the release of a new acoustic live EP that would be solely available on the iTunes Music Store. It featured one song, "L-L-Love", that had been on Don't Whisper Lies, and three new songs, "Paper Doll", "Running Back", and "Fade to Pale". The new EP was more successful than the first, eventually becoming the #1 pop album on iTunes and #9 on the album charts.

They crash to the shore, they come from the deep
As sure as the sun will rise, the sun will set
You taste the salt the closer you get
Waves
Picking you up
Pushing you down
Waves
Just like dream
Silver and green
We live in between
They can carry you all the way to me
They can pull you out to the deep blue sea
Oh waves, there are waves
Empires will crumble to the sand
All that you love can slip through your hand
But you must face the ocean once again
Follow the tides, wherever you've been
Waves
Picking you up
Pushing you down
They're always around
Waves
Just like dream
Silver and green
We live in between
They can carry you all the way to me
They can pull you out to the deep blue sea
Oh waves, there are waves
Waves
Picking you up
Pushing you down
They're always around
Waves
Just like dream
Silver and green
We live in between
They can carry you all the way to me
They can pull you out to the deep blue sea
Oh waves, there are waves
Blondfire's song "Waves" is a poetic ode to the ocean and its ebb and flow. It speaks to the energy and power of the waves that crash to shore and come from the deep, both soothing and relentless in their constant motion. The lyrics convey the idea that just as the waves come and go, so do the ups and downs of life, and we must face them once again and follow the tides wherever they take us. The ocean and its waves are depicted as a force greater than ourselves, capable of carrying us all the way to each other or pulling us out to the deep blue sea.
With lines like "Empires will crumble to the sand" and "All that you love can slip through your hand," the song speaks to the transience of life and how things can change in the blink of an eye, but the waves remain a constant presence. The chorus repeats the word "waves" over and over, achieving a kind of mantra-like quality that reinforces the theme of the song. The verses are filled with vivid imagery that brings the ocean to life, from the taste of salt on your lips to the colors of silver and green that shimmer in the water. Overall, the song captures the majesty and mystery of the ocean, and the way it draws us in with its beauty and power.
