welcome to the franchise! long story short Lilith created the world (Sanctuary) and humans (Blessed Mother) and partook in two wars involving the fate of the universe. after being defeated and banished (twice, lily get it together babygirl) she's now been resummoned by unknown forces to (assumedly) retake the mantle of humanity's leader. As seen in the trailer she's used the souls, blood, and flesh of sacrifice victims to retake physical form 😈💅👩

(She's also the kid of the demon overlord Mephisto, the Prime Evil aspect of Hatred. So when the dying victim said she was the Daughter of Hatred, he was being literal lol)

I love this fucking cutscene. I actually love Mother Lilith, I'm a demonolater. This video doesnt really represent her accurately considering its a video game BUt i must say, this does give me chills. Lilith looks after her own, and this feels like how she'd start her war path against people who hurt her daughters and sons.

I think an extremely nice touch is that even after the necromancer goes through so much trouble to resurrect her, and shows such deference, she doesn't even look at him until the very end. He's beneath her notice. That creates such an amazing air of majesty.
