Bloom Luka Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
If you tear yourself in two again
If I could, you know I would
If I could, I would
Let it go
Surrender
Dislocate
lifeline to the wind
I'd leave this heart of clay
See you walk, walk away
Into the night
And through the rain
Into the half-light
And through the flame
If I could through myself
Set your spirit free
I'd lead your heart away
See you walk, walk away
Into the light
And through the day
So let it go
And so to fade away
Let it go
And so to fade away
I'm wide awake
I'm wide awake
I'm not sleeping
If you should ask then maybe
They'd tell you what I would say
True colors fly in blue and black
Bruised silken sky and burning flag
Killers crash, collide in bloodshot eyes
If I could, you know I would
If I could, I would
Let it go
Surrender
Desperation
Dislocation
Separation
Condemnation
Revelation
In temptation
Isolation
Desolation
Let it go
And so to fade away
Let it go
And so to fade away
I'm wide awake
I'm wide awake
I'm not sleeping
So let it go
Surrender
Let it go
Let it go
I'm wide awake ...
In this song, Bloom Luka is expressing love and the desire to let go of the one he loves. He describes the pain of loving someone who constantly twists and turns away from him, leaving him feeling torn apart. Despite his love, he acknowledges that if he could, he would let go and surrender to the situation, even if it causes dislocation and desperation. He imagines setting his love's spirit free so that they could walk away into the night and through the rain, into the light and through the day. He encourages himself to let go, to fade away and move on, even though he is wide awake and not sleeping.
The second part of the song is a reflection on the transience of life and the inevitability of change. The idea of true colors flying in blue and black suggests that people's true selves are revealed in difficult or trying situations. The image of the "bruised silken sky and burning flag" alludes to the destruction and trauma caused by war. The line "killers crash, collide in bloodshot eyes" describes the violent and chaotic nature of conflict. Firmly believing that letting go is the best option, the singer repeats the motifs of surrender, separation, and revelation, and encourages himself to face his feelings of isolation and desolation.

It's amazing how Luka can change the feel of a song so dramatically by enhancing the simplicity. This is classic Luka, even if it is a cover song. Well done Luka

Awesome. The best. Amazing piece of music. "If I could, you know I would. If I could, I would ... let it go. Surrender." Love the string of 4-syllable words.
