How a Man's Supposed to Change
Blue Lyrics

First verse, drop it
Lord knows I'm gonna make it
To brighter days, I'm on my way
Dreamed before and saw the way that I was misbehaving
Now I'm standing face to face
My vision's blinded by the pain
('Cause that's how I feel)
My mirror's broken
I've been cursed with seven years of bad luck
Will the sorrow ever change?
So now my soul's in debt, I must regret
I die and live another lonely day
Tell me how a man's supposed to change?
So now my soul's in debt, I must regret
I die and live another lonely day
Tell me how a man's supposed to change?
(How's a man supposed to change? Tell me)
My fear is growing old unhappy
Without my loved ones next to me
Ink on my skin has nearly faded
Incarcerated for my sins
To my reflection I can see it
Vision's blinded by the pain
(That's right, by the pain y'all)
My mirror's broken
I've been cursed with seven years of bad luck
Will the sorrow ever change?
So now my soul's in debt, I must regret
I die and live another lonely day
Tell me how a man's supposed to change?
So now my soul's in debt, I must regret
I die and live another lonely day
Tell me how a man's supposed to change?
How a man's supposed to change?
So now my souls in debt, I must regret
I die and live another lonely day
Tell me how a man's supposed to change?
So now my soul's in debt, I must regret
I die and live another lonely day
Tell me how a man's supposed to change?
How's a man supposed to change y'all?
Tell me, how a man's supposed to change?
Tell me, how a man's supposed to change?
Tell me, how a man's supposed to change?
So now my soul's in debt, I must regret
I die and live another lonely day
Tell me how a man's supposed to change?
So now my soul's in debt, I must regret
The lyrics to Blue's song How's a Man Supposed to Change? speak to the pain and sorrow of trying to change oneself in the face of past mistakes and regrets. The song begins with a sense of determination, with the singer stating that they are on their way to brighter days, but quickly descends into a sense of hopelessness and despair. The singer is haunted by their past misdeeds, as symbolized by the broken mirror and seven years of bad luck. Despite their desire to change, they feel trapped by their own soul's debt and regret, forced to live each lonely day without knowing how to break free.
There is a feeling of desperation and confusion that runs throughout the song, as the singer asks repeatedly "how a man's supposed to change?" There is a sense that no matter how hard they try, they are doomed to repeat their past mistakes and always feel trapped by their own regrets. The sense of isolation and loneliness is particularly striking, with the singer expressing a fear of growing old alone and without loved ones by their side.
Overall, the lyrics to How's a Man Supposed to Change? are both poignant and relatable, capturing the sense of frustration and confusion that many people feel when trying to overcome their own past shortcomings and mistakes.
