Their only album, the self-titled Blue Angel, was released in 1980 to critical acclaim and moderate sales. It featured a sparse punk rock and New Wave-styled cover in primary red and floating band member photos. Like much of Lauper's later solo career, the sales for the album was more successful overseas than in America, but even so the only track to achieve high chart status was "I'm Gonna Be Strong", which reached #37 in the Netherlands. Another song from the album, "Maybe He'll Know", was rerecorded by Lauper on her second solo album, True Colors, in 1986.
In 1984, after Lauper's subsequent success, the record was re-released, this time with a yellow cover, and finally in an exclusive 5,000 copy limited compact disc pressing in 2005 from Hip-O Select Records. The band reformed without Lauper in 1987 under the name "Boppin' the Blues". Lauper joined them on stage for a one-time performance. The band has since disbanded completely.

Blue Angel Lyrics

I sense a silent shuffle to my heartbeat
Why cry, I'll just fade
Fade you away
I watch your window from the street
I guess I'll etch a vision in my daydreams of you
Of you, of you, but you
Never thought I'd be so proud,
But I will never live without you
Oh, oh, oh, oh, fade
Fade you away, I will fade, fade you away
I think I'm walkin' down your street
The lyrics of Blue Angel's song "Fade" revolve around the emotions of a person trying to deal with a past relationship. The opening lines suggest that the singer is walking down the street of someone they used to be with, and they can feel their heart beating. The line "Why cry, I'll just fade" indicates that the person has come to a decision to move on from their past relationship, but they are still holding on to some emotions. As the song moves forward, the lyrics suggest that the person is still trying to hold on to the memories of the past relationship, which is evident through lines like "I watch your window from the street, I guess I'll etch a vision in my daydreams of you."
The chorus of "Fade" is perhaps the most crucial part of the song, where the person declares that they will "fade you away" and move on. However, the second verse of the song suggests that the person is still struggling to let go, as indicated through the lines, "Never thought I'd be so proud, But I will never live without you."
Overall, the song is about dealing with the emotions and memories of a past relationship, especially when it becomes hard to move on from it. The singer is trying to cope with all the feelings and memories of their past lover, but they have ultimately decided to let go and fade away from their life.
