Aaron, who hails from Auburn, Indiana, was surrounded by music growing up. After a brief stint in college; his father Jeoffrey, a professional gospel singer, invited Aaron to tour with him. Together they played more than 130 concerts annually for several years and recorded three CD's. The experience sculpted Aaron to the techniques of duo singing, which may be one reason why he never quite hit the jackpot after leaving to seek his fortunes as a solo artist.
Scott, who was born in Delight, Arkansas - and raised in Los Angeles started singing at an early age with his Uncle Jack; but, his strongest musical influence came from close family friend, Glenn Campbell. After high school, Scott, who had been acting as well as playing music, picked up work in commercials and on television shows.
Aaron and Scott teamed up after meeting on a music video in Nashville five years ago. It was an instant brotherhood! The two were inseparable! After years of friendship, and a bit of gentle pressure from their wives - the guys decided to see how it felt to sing together. They discovered not only did they have a perfect friendship, but also perfect harmonies!
One fateful day, the duo made it to Curb Records. There, they sat down in front of Doug Johnson, the A&R director for the new Asylum subsidiary, and performed. When they were finished, the first words out of Doug's mouth were "Man, one of you is really gonna have to screw this up to not make it work." With that, Blue County was officially born. Scott and Aaron have finished their sophomore album and it will be released very soon. Their new single "I Get To" can be heard on a radio station near you.
That's Cool

With your brand new red ryder
That old folded lawn chair
Makes the perfect x-wing fighter
Those no-name baseball cards
Spinning in your spokes
Now that's cool
Loosin's up your cerfew
Driving home at midnight
That old buick smells like perfume
Making your own money
Having coffee with your folks
Now that's cool
Chorus:
Knowin' where you're going
Embracin' where you've been
Being criticized for standing strong
In a battle you can't win
Living in a moment
You may never see again
So let your heart
Break some rules
Now that's cool
Waking up with your new bride
A room beside the ocean
Then ten years later going back
To relive that emotion
She tells you what she's thinking
But never says a word
Now that's cool
Chorus:
Knowin' where you're going
Embracin' where you've been
Being criticized for standing strong
In a battle you can't win
Living in a moment
You may never see again
So let your heart
Break some rules
Now that's cool
Picture here's your six-year-old
And you're his full time catcher
He gets a new bb gun
And "you'll put your eye out" lecture
Your three-year-old is singing
A song that she just learned
Now that's cool
Chorus:
Knowin' where you're going
Embracin' where you've been
Being criticized for standing strong
In a battle you can't win
Living in a moment
You may never see again
So let your heart
Break some rules
Now that's cool
The lyrics in Blue County's "Thats Cool" celebrate the simple moments in life that make it worth living. The song is a reminder to find joy in the everyday, seemingly insignificant things that happen. The first verse talks about shooting Dr. Pepper cans with a red Ryder, and how a folded lawn chair can become an X-wing fighter. These moments emphasize creativity and imagination, traits that are often lost in our adult lives. It is reminiscent of a time before bills, responsibilities and worries, in a world where anything is possible. The second verse highlights growing up and having new experiences, such as turning seventeen and having more freedom or making your own money. But it also points out the importance of relationships, like having coffee with your parents. The chorus reinforces the theme of embracing the present moment, regardless of what it entails. It conveys a sense of confidence in oneself, even during stressful or challenging times. The final verse touches on the passing of time, and how memories are often more valuable than possessions. The singer reminisces about a past trip to the ocean with a loved one and how it remains a cherished memory. The last couplet emphasizes the small yet meaningful things, like watching your children grow up and experiencing life through their eyes.
Overall, Blue County's song "Thats Cool" promotes a positive outlook on life, encouraging people to appreciate the little moments that make life worth living. The song is sentimental, but not overly sappy, and it resonates on a deep level with listeners. It reminds us that regardless of how much we grow up, the awareness of the value in small things can help us maintain a youthful spirit.
