Blue Foundation Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
My trouble seemed like distant dreams
My trouble seemed so far away
Yesterday, yesterday
It all seems like distant dreams
My trouble seemed so far away
Ricochet voices
My trouble seemed like distant dreams
My trouble seemed so far away
Yesterday, yesterday
It all seems like distant dreams
My trouble seemed so far away
Yesterday, yesterday
Yesterday, yesterday
It all seems like yesterday
The song "Voices" by Blue Foundation is a hauntingly beautiful track that is open to interpretation. The lyrics "Ricochet voices" could refer to the echoes of inner thoughts bouncing off the walls of the mind. The singer refers to their personal troubles and how they once felt like distant dreams or a far-fetched idea. The repetition of the phrase "My trouble seemed so far away" and "Yesterday" suggests that the singer is reflecting on a past struggle that they have overcome, and that it now seems like a distant memory or a thing of the past. The final line "It all seems like yesterday" could signify the idea that the memories and echoes of the past never truly go away.
The atmosphere of the song is achieved through the use of the lead vocalist's gentle and almost whispered voice, paired with the haunting piano and electronically produced sounds. The production techniques include the use of reverb and echo to create a sense of space and distance. The emptiness of the track allows the listener to focus on the lyrics and the emotions behind them.
