By the time they signed with MCA Records, the lineup of John Paul Camp (saxophone/ vocals), Sean Dolan (guitar), Jimmy Flame (trumpet/ vocals), Chaz Linde (keyboard/ vocal), Dave Lund (bass/ vocals), Billy Spunke (vocals/ megaphone), and Bob Trondson (drums) stuck together as a total of 22 musicians passed through the band since their formation.
Their sixth full length album, The Post Wave, was released in late 2000. This album is musically the most different from the other five albums. This change in sound along with the title of the album probably resulted from the crash of the third wave ska scene within the US. In late 2001 the band took the rights to The Post Wave back from MCA records and reissued it on Thick Records in August 2001. Soon afterwards the band ceased touring, though they never issued an official break up statement.

Blue Meanies Lyrics

Presidential election
Turn on the radio
Fiasco
What you say and what you will
I am Uncle Sam
I am I am all fall down
Let's have a rebate
I don't need a debate
How 'bout a drug ring
Mud sling
Now more taxes
No malpractice
Sounds like a scandal
We can't handle
All fall down
Let me kiss your baby
Let me kiss your face
Twinkle, twinkle in my eye
No, I'd never lie
Equal rights for everyone
Eat cake, have some
I am the savior
In your favor
All fall down
Shut down the crack house
Shut down the white
The Blue Meanies' song Blah Blah Blah is a satirical take on the politics of the United States that are presented to the public through the media. The first two lines of the song - "Turn on the television, Presidential election / Turn on the radio, Fiasco" - already hint at the chaos and absurdity of politics as represented in the media. The lyrics then go on to suggest that the politicians are all hypocrites who say one thing but will do another, as exemplified in the lines "What you say and what you will / I am Uncle Sam / I am I am all fall down".
The second part of the song deals more specifically with various political issues presented in the media. The lines "Let's have a rebate / I don't need a debate / How 'bout a drug ring / Mud sling" refer to the superficiality of political promises, while "Now more taxes / No malpractice / Sounds like a scandal / We can't handle" highlights the contradictions in politicians' arguments. The third verse suggests the grandiosity of politicians, with lines like "Let me kiss your baby / Let me kiss your face / Twinkle, twinkle in my eye / No, I'd never lie" and "I am the savior / In your favor", while the last line of the song - "All fall down" - suggests a collapse of the entire political system.
