Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Bob & Jimmy's song "Tiger" may seem repetitive and simple at first glance, but they hold a deeper meaning and can be interpreted in various ways. The repeated phrases of "Hold that tiger" and "Where's that tiger" can be seen as a metaphorical representation of the struggle and pursuit of something or someone elusive and powerful in life.

The refrain of "Hold that tiger" indicates a sense of determination and the desire to grasp onto something significant, something that may bring excitement, adventure, or even danger. It can be interpreted as a plea to retain control over this elusive force, to not let it slip away or become lost. In this context, the tiger symbolizes a potent energy or passion that the singer is determined to harness and make their own.

As for the question "Where's that tiger," it can reflect a sense of yearning or longing. It suggests that the singer is actively seeking this elusive tiger, perhaps searching for a source of inspiration, motivation, or power in their life. It conveys a sense of anticipation and curiosity, as the singer wonders where this tiger might be hiding and how they can access its untamed energy.

Overall, through the repetitive lyrics and the use of a tiger as a metaphor, Bob & Jimmy's song explores the notions of holding onto and seeking out powerful and transformative forces in life, whether they be personal desires, dreams, or even potential dangers.

All of those guys lived long enough to see Tiger become Tiger (Jimmy Stewart died first, in 1997, a few months after Tiger won his first Masters).

Funny how the entire episode is so difficult to find. I believe this is the appearance where, when he misses the putt not shown here, his first instinct is to run up and move the ball right next to the "hole". When everyone laughs, I suppose any two-year-old would feel that behavior was validated...character will out, and the rest is history.

Odd encounter with Tiger. I grew up near Tiger Woods and had no thoughts about him or his future. Just always saw him alone, and quiet, at Mcdonalds or buying candy at a liquor store, in Cypress, Ca.
His dad could always be seen on the porch at home reading a newspaper. Saw him at same market. Rumor was the retired officers kind of did not like him or I should say his dad, at the Naval golf course nearby at Los Alamitos.
When Tiger had just gotten famous in 1997 a very unusual meeting to me happened. I was outside at the Citrus in 1997 for a Lexus tournament. As I stood outside staying out of the way on a wide sidewalk and drive turnabout, I was watching Clint Eastwood. Just thinking about all his movies I had seen, and how skinny he was.The sun was setting. And Tiger Woods was in my side periphery walking directly toward me. He had on a baseball cap. He walked straight into me as if I was not there. I saw him coming, he had a eye and face of lost in mesmerrizing. Eyes open but like he was zoned out, in a trance. I assumed just in deep thought. Thinking back it could have been a drug or catatonic like state. But that never occurred to me then or till now. I have always assumed that he could block out and focus and that was part of his concentration.
He was very apolagetic and seemed very embarrassed and was very sincere I think, and I told him its no problem. And then Clint Eastwoods lexus pulled up, Clint got in, and almost ran over someones foot and abruptly hit the brakes.

Curious, had the same feeling looking into his 2 year old eyes in this video. Nice story!
