Just love his clarinet playing! Thanks for this!

This was recorded at arguably the best Bobcats session of them all, on 2/6/40. Faz had quite a day, stealing the show on the whole session.

Only Clarinet player who could match Faz's tone was the great Peanuts Hucko. No one else came close for me.
Sad to think Fazola was gone by 36!
What a great band this really was.Eddie
Miller was as lyrical a Tenor player as jazz ever produced.Wonderful recording.

William Rappaport

When I was seventeen I met Peanuts Hucko, and he recommended I listen to Irving Fazola to learn hw to play jazz on the clarinet.

Jon-Erik Kellso

Love it! Thanks for posting this, Ray.

Gerry Phillips

Irving was right up there with Goodman and Shaw.

James D. Lethgo

better than modern stuff

JOHN CONTOS

I can hear a lot of Fazola in Pete Fountains clarinet playing.

JOHN CONTOS

+Ray Sherman I grew up listening to Pete, but he was no Benny Goodman. But who is. Benny was the man!!!
